@riversandrew36 Use Responsive Design with Bootstrap Fluid Containers can you explan that to me a bit more how do I start?
Andrew Rivers
@riversandrew36
Jan 28 2017 00:04
@itchick85 You start with using the bootstrap link that they provide and the idea behind bootstrap is to make things look better no matter what the screen size

Andrew Rivers
@riversandrew36
Jan 28 2017 00:06
@itchick85 so when you wrap all your HTML in the <div> with a class of "container-fluid", It means that all of you code inside the HTML is inside a new container and that it'll be fluid on all sizes
Devonr01
@Devonr01
Jan 28 2017 00:06
This is what I have to do Nest your text input element within a form element.
Make sure your form has an action attribute which is set to /submit-cat-photo
Make sure your form element has a closing tag.

Jan 28 2017 00:06
@Devonr01 you have the write code you just need to wrap your <form> tag around your input tag
@Devonr01 right now your have your <input> tag outside of your <form> tag thats why it's telling you to nest

@riversandrew36 so I think I hit all the points except for this Make sure you have nested all HTML elements in .container-fluid. what's wrong here is my code <link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Lobster" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">

<style>
.red-text {
color: red;
}

h2 {
font-family: Lobster, Monospace;
}

p {
font-size: 16px;
font-family: Monospace;
}

.thick-green-border {
border-color: green;
border-width: 10px;
border-style: solid;
border-radius: 50%;
}

.smaller-image {
width: 100px;
}

.container-fluid {

}
</style>

<div class="container-fluid"rel="stylesheet" href="//maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/3.3.1/css/bootstrap.min.css"/>
</div>

<h2 class="red-text">CatPhotoApp</h2>

<p>Click here for <a href="#">cat photos</a>.</p>

Andrew Rivers

@itchick85 yeah thats super close, the bootstrap <link> needs to be own tag outside of the <div>
AliRanj
@AliRanj
Jan 28 2017 00:32
bootstrap that what i am talking about
Andrew Rivers
@riversandrew36
Jan 28 2017 00:32
then just nest your container class inside your <div> and make sure you close your <div> as well
Lance
@texas2010
Jan 28 2017 00:32
@itchick85 you dont need to add this code.
rel="stylesheet" href="//maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/3.3.1/css/bootstrap.min.css"/> in there, already have bootstrap css file. you dont need to add it.
"In this case, we've already added it for you to this page behind the scenes."

Use the $("button") selector.
Use the $(".btn") selector.
Use the $("#target1") selector.
Only add one class with each of your three selectors.
Your #target1 element should have the classes animated‚ shake and btn-primary.
Only use jQuery to add these classes to the element.

Coy Sanders
@coymeetsworld

@sserbicki there should only be one set of h1 tags
you don't need to create another one, also you should terminate your style in pink-text class with a semi-colon

yeah np @monkeyfingerz, also you could declare and define the variable at the same time i.e. var fahrenheit = 9/5 * celsius + 32;, but the instructions tell you not to change the variable declaration
they give you the variable by default to simplify things

Create a class called thick-green-border that puts a 10-pixel-wide green border with a style of solid around an HTML element, and apply that class to your cat photo.

Remember that you can apply multiple classes to an element by separating each class with a space within its class attribute. For example:

function lookUpProfile(firstName, prop){
// Only change code below this line
for (var i = 0; i < contacts.length; i++){
if (contacts[i].hasOwnProperty("firstName"))
{
if (contacts[i].hasOwnProperty(prop))

else
return "No such property";
}
else
return "No such contact";

Hi. Create a class called thick-green-border that puts a 10-pixel-wide green border with a style of solid around an HTML element, and apply that class to your cat photo.

I can't seem to crack this code.
Here is mine -

<img class="smaller-image" src="https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back." class= "thin-green-border">

I'm working on Testing Object for Properties in JavaScript and I succeed in passing the first two tests but not the third. How do I get it to pass the "Not Found" part?
// Setup
var myObj = {
  gift: "pony",
  pet: "kitten",
  bed: "sleigh"
};

function checkObj(checkProp) {

  if(myObj.hasOwnProperty("checkProp"));
  {return myObj[checkProp];}

  return "Not Found";

}

// Test your code by modifying these values
checkObj("gift");

@rocky3031 I actually just found a way to pass. I took out "return "Not found" and stuck || "Not Found" next to [checkProp]. Thanks for your suggestion!

@rocky3031:
  • for( j = 0; j < arr[i].length; i++) … why are you incrementing by i? This means you won't be able to get each element in the arr array as your loop is skipping over some elements in the array and most likely ending too early.
    Also of note:
  • Your i and j variables are accessible in the global scope. It should only be accessible in the local scope (within the function only). This is not a problem as of right now, but in larger codebases you want to minimize having variables in the global scope as it can prove quite detrimental.
