@NathanVu Depends on the project, but for FCC it just shows you that it exists
@draywray That's not how you declare a class in CSS. Reread the challenges

@draywray
If you want to declare a class under your CSS style it needs to start with a period.
Example:
<style>
.pink-text {
color: pink;
}
</style>

@WilliamRR23 You can declare a class in the CSS style and the assign the class within the image. As you can see below:
<style>
.smaller-image {
width:100px
}
  .red-text {
    color: red;
  }
  h2 {
    font-family: Lobster, Monospace;

@WilliamRR23 When you are declaring your image-smaller class within the style tag, what do you want to accomplish with it? If you want it to be smaller, it should have:

@journeysoup You don't need to comment out the "Lobster" font, just comment out the link ref of the "Lobster" font found at the first lines of your html code. then your h2 within the style tag should look like:

h2 {
font-family: Lobster, Monospace;
}

That is how to degrade the font (If I remember it correctly)

Question:
"if your adding a class to an element that already has a class, do you double quote? "

Answer:
No, you just separate them with a space, example is when using 1. red-text class 2. blue-text class:

<h2 class="red-text blue text">Hello Blue</h2>

@journeysalt You need to comment out before and after h1 element and p element. You will make sure to comment out separately because there is an h2 in between and you need that to still be visible. Example:
<!--

Your img element should have the class smaller-image.

Give your image a border width of 10px.

Give your image a border style of solid.

The border around your img element should be green.

My code was missing: Your h2 element should have the class red-text.
Your stylesheet should declare a red-text class and have its color set to red.

@anthony1bd There should be a space after the "color:" and make sure you have class syntax right.

@anthony1bd Using "". If the effect still shows up without the quotes, that's because your browser managed to interpret it correctly. But that's luck, you should have the quotes.

@Pmorr nesting simply means placing inside. Basically copy all your HTML inside a div with the desired class
@CyanCool :+1: happy coding.
and remember that as long as you correctly enclose elements inside <> you don't have them conflitting classes since everything is "enclosed" inside it own arrows :)

Change the Font Size of an Element challenge.
Inside the same <style> tag that contains your red-text class, create an entry for p elements and set the font-size to 16 pixels (16px).
Note: Due to browser implementation differences, you may need to be at 100% zoom to pass the tests on this challenge.

<style> p{font-size: 16px;} </style> and still won't let me submit.

@nanowerx ok, I got what's causing the problem, still don't know why. I've set my canvas width and height (200px and 150px) and it somehow distorts the square. It happens even if I set width and height to the same value. Setting only width seems to make the square ok.... but I really don't get why things happen this way :/

@Adventurist100 There are two problems here:

  1. It should be "<a href" and not "<a <href"

  2. The anchor text is what you have between your <a> and </a> tags. So in your case, you should replace the text "link to Free Code Camp.com" to whatever your anchor text should be.

<style>
body {
font-family: Open Sans;
background-color: black;

}
.layout1 {
text-align: center;
background-color: white;
}
#intro {
color: black !important;
}
</style>

<div class="layout1">
<h1 class="text-center" id="intro">Hello</h1>
</div>

how do i control the size of layout1? I tried variations where xx is xs or md and yy are numbers:

<div class="row">

<div class="layout1 col-xx-yy">

but i can't seem to make layout1 centered with about an inch off the left and right like i want

ooooooh
Andrew Shieh
@andrewlikes
Feb 21 2017 05:13
but ultimately, the value of href is always going to be a link
the purpose of a href is to send the user somewhere when they click it
however when you make the value of href = #, it will be a dead link

Feb 21 2017 05:15
@narvinye I think you should nest both of those div classes into a div class container
@malgerite you're trying to space them across the bar?
Mason Alger
@malgerite
Feb 21 2017 05:16

<input type="radio" name="test-name"checked>
<input type="radio" name="test-name"checked>
<label><input type="checkbox" name="personality"> Loving</label>
<label><input type="checkbox" name="personality"> Lazy</label>

Also, the radios should be within label elements.
Then you'll also need checked in the checkbox element.

@sasusis14 By stating "checked" after the "name="test-name" Example:
<label><input type="radio" name="indoor-outdoor" checked> Outdoor</label>
<label><input type="checkbox"
