@Margaret2 well i started this like 5 days ago, do u reccomend me to countinue using the old version of the site or switch to the beta?
Coy Sanders
@coymeetsworld
Mar 08 2017 00:01
Whatever progress you have on the current version should stay in tact though, I think any progress in the beta may be lost (not completely sure)
that includes any certs you get, projects aren't stored on FCC so those should be easy to add back if needed
Margaret
@Margaret2
Mar 08 2017 00:02
@lazarjaksic97 i would say continue with the main version because the beta has a lot of bugs... but still try out some of the beta challenges if you want

@Margaret2 im looking at the map of tests curently, looks to me that they changed the paths in the maps, am i right?
Margaret
@Margaret2
Mar 08 2017 00:02
@coymeetsworld yeah, like when they finally put the beta on the main site, your progress might be lost there?
AndrewOscarDelta
@AndrewOscarDelta
Mar 08 2017 00:02
Is there an advantage to using the beta site?
Margaret
@Margaret2
Mar 08 2017 00:03
@lazarjaksic97 yeah, they have changed a lot
Coy Sanders
@coymeetsworld
Mar 08 2017 00:03
on beta @Margaret2, again I'm not sure about that part
like if you did one of the new sections then the cutover to the beta, do we still have that progress and solutions saved?
Margaret
@Margaret2
Mar 08 2017 00:04
@AndrewOscarDelta it has a lot more challenges, so it can be useful to go through it. The CSS part seems to be working pretty good now, but idk how much of the JS section they've fixed
give this a shot
Lazar Jaksic
@lazarjaksic97
Mar 08 2017 00:04
@Margaret2 well since im a real newbie in this, and i want to get the best knowlenge posible (without paying for courses like Threehouse or Lynda, since i heard they are really good), with that criteria in mind, do you think i should stay on this version or switch to the beta? sorry for being anoying :D
Coy Sanders
@coymeetsworld
Mar 08 2017 00:05
@lazarjaksic97 I don't think anything from the current version is getting phased out, so I think its fine to stay here
they're either adding new content, or shifting some content around. For example some of the algorithm challenges got moved around. Record collection is going to be an advanced algorithm I think because too many people were having trouble with it
Margaret
@Margaret2
Mar 08 2017 00:06
@lazarjaksic97 i think you should stay on this version. Think of the beta challenges as like "extra credit" or something

  //if(!bookList.includes(bookName)) {
      bookList.push(bookName);
  //}
  return bookList;

  // Add your code above this line
}

and

function remove (bookList, bookName) {
  if (bookList.indexOf(bookName) >= 0) {
    //for(let i = 0; i < bookList.length; i++) {
         let pos = bookList.indexOf(bookName);
        bookList.splice(pos, 1);

    //}

Im making an edit page with a get request like so:

app.get("blogs/:id/edit",function(req,res){
blog.findById(req.params.id,function(err,newBlog){
        if(err){
            console.log(err);
        }else{
            res.render("edit",{blog:newBlog})
        }     })  })

But im getting the following error!

 [CastError: Cast to ObjectId failed for value "edit" at path "_id" for model "blog"]
  message: 'Cast to ObjectId failed for value "edit" at path "_id" for model "blog"',
  name: 'CastError',
  stringValue: '"edit"',
  kind: 'ObjectId',
  value: 'edit',
  path: '_id',
  reason: undefined,
  model:

Emphasize the text in your target4 button by adding HTML tags.
Make sure the text is otherwise unchanged.
Do not alter any other text.
Make sure you are using .html() and not .text().
Make sure to select button id="target4" with jQuery.
this is my task, $("h4").html("<em>target4</em>");
