Hey all, trying to add the class container-fluid to a div element and nest my HTML elements in .container-fluid. Not quite sure how to do that.
David
@dkohlruss
Mar 11 2017 00:09
make a div, add the class container-fluid to it with
<yourdivstuffhereyoushouldknowit class="container-fluid">
and before closing that div tag
put your other html elements in it
so
<div>
<p>This is nested in a div</p>
</div>
Jeremy Davis

Do I need to describe "container-fluid" like .container-fluid somewhere?
Like when you're introducing a style?

Jeremy Davis
@jeremydavis87
Mar 11 2017 00:13
Correct
David
@dkohlruss
Mar 11 2017 00:13
If so, it's in the bootstrap css file
If you were to be making your own framework for whatever reason (for example, if you were making a small site where the payload for a user, especially one on like dial-up or a 2G cell connection) , then you'd have to define the container-fluid class in a css file (or you could do it inline, except basically never define CSS inline)

I am having problems with the "Show the Local Weather" project. They say that they recommend the API from https://openweathermap.org/
Problem is that we need our location. So in earlier tutorials we learn how to use the navigator.getlocation.getCurrentPosition() function, that API uses HTTPS while the other https://openweathermap.org/ API is using HTTP. So while in codepen you can't use both at the same time (unless I'm wrong). Can i somehow make them work together in codepen or do i have to find other APIs?

@Jeonggukkami In this element: <a class="className" id="idName" href="url" style="color: red">
The attributes are class, id, href, and style, their values are className, idName, url, and color: red
If you change url to a website address, you have set the attribute to a new value.
setting an attribute means changing the value after the = sign

You need 2 p elements with Kitty Ipsum text.
Make sure each of your p elements has a closing tag.
Your p element should contain the first few words of the provided additional kitty ipsum text.
The first p element should have the class red-text.
Do not add a class attribute to the second p element.
Between the style tags, give the p elements font-size of 16px. Browser and Text zoom should be at 100%.
so where do you add the p
in between the style

<style>
.red-text {
color: red;
}

</style>
so i tried

@davon1416 You'll need to add some code between your <style></style> tags to tell the h2 element to use the Lobster font.
It's almost the same as what you did for the <p> elements, telling it to use monospace
Only, it's for h2 elements instead of p elements

Your img element should have the class smaller-image.
Your image should be 100 pixels wide. Browser zoom should be at 100%.
so i got
<style>
.red-text {
color: red;
}

h2 {
font-family: Lobster, Monospace;
}

p {
font-size: 16px;
font-family: Monospace;
}
smaller-image {
width: 100px;
}
</style>
not passing also not passing if i use

You need 2 p elements with Kitty Ipsum text.
Make sure each of your p elements has a closing tag.
Your p element should contain the first few words of the provided additional kitty ipsum text.
The first p element should have the class red-text.
Do not add a class attribute to the second p element.
Between the style tags, give the p elements font-size of 16px. Browser and Text zoom should be at 100%.

What am i doing wrong?

Ok so i'm stuck on Put the Like, Info and Delete buttons side-by-side by nesting all three of them within one <div class="row"> element, then each of them within a <div class="col-xs-4"> element.

The row class is applied to a div, and the buttons themselves can be nested within it.

this is in the bootsrap part of the catphotoapp ...

hi, I'm not sure why we replace class="button" with class"btn btn primary" in bootstrap
Margaret
@Margaret2
Mar 11 2017 03:56
@E-Mech bootstrap is a CSS library that pre-defines styles for you to use. If you want to use their styles, then you need to use the class name that goes with those styles...
btn is the main class that applies button styles, whereas btn-primary pretty much just changes the background color

Hey does anyone have a couple minutes? I need some help with my personal portfolio before I fudge it up any further. It seems like every time I do something, something else happens. My nav bar is messed up, one button is offset and my picture won't go to the left of my text... I have no idea what i'm doing anymore.

I was working find Fibonacci Numbers through recursion and I made that Algorithm well and it was working fine, but the moment I ran that code for the first time the editor got crashed everytime. I do tried to block JS specifically just so that I can reset the code but sadly it won't work. If I block JS on my browser it doesn't reset the code either.

Do you guys can suggest me anything?

How does Use an ID Attribute to Style an Element work?

<style>
h2 {color: blue;}
</style>

<p>Kitty ipsum dolor sit amet, shed everywhere shed everywhere stretching attack your ankles chase the red dot, hairball run catnip eat the grass sniff.</p>

this is all I have
Remove the style attribute from your h2 element.
Create a style element.
Your h2 element should be blue.
Ensure that your stylesheet h2 declaration is valid with a semicolon and closing brace.
Make sure all your style elements are valid and have a closing tag.

@Marslunatic you deleted the h2 element, you don't have to do that
Angel Gil
@Marslunatic
Mar 11 2017 08:10

I had to delete <h2></h2>
h1tag
@h1tag
Mar 11 2017 08:11
@chiragpawar you have to nest the existing a element, not create a new one
chiragpawar
@chiragpawar
Mar 11 2017 08:12
oky .how to do this
h1tag
@h1tag
Mar 11 2017 08:12
delete the new element you created or reset the code
and you'll see an a element, nest that inside the paragraph
@Marslunatic no the code between style or in the CSS file is for giving style to the code. It doesn't display content on the page, you have to do that in html
