Hello guys!
QUick QUESTION:
Why are my ids showing as Null when I call them in mongo.

They do have an id when i see them in the data base but when i call them through the app they show as null.

console response:

Mongoose: mpromise (mongoose's default promise library) is deprecated, plug in your own promise library instead: http://mongoosejs.com/docs/promises.html
{ _id: 58c76e48f339ce0d322f59a5,
  name: 'bob',
  email: 'bob@bob.com',
  __v: 3,
  posts: [ null, null, null ] }

My code:

  post.create({                                          //create a post with following data
      title:"working code",
    content:"Ive cracked this part"
},function(post)    {                                     //give that post a callback function
    mongoose.model("user").findOne({name:"bob"},function(err,foundUser){ //that finds one user model with name bob

        if(err){console.log(err)}

        else{ //if found push in the post that was created
            foundUser.posts.push(post);
            foundUser.save(function(err,saved){ //and save bobs new details
            if(err)
            {console.log(err)}
            else
            {console.log(saved)}

        })
  }
  })
  })

mongoose.model("user").findOne({name:"bob"}).populate("posts").exec(function(err,user){
    if(err){console.log(err)}
else{console.log(user, user.posts.id)}});

-----------I attach a post to a user once i find a user with name bob..
Here is bobs user schema

var userSchema= new mongoose.Schema({
    name:String,
    email:String,
    posts:[{
        type:mongoose.Schema.Types.ObjectId, //posts attribute looks for an id in a mongoose schema
        ref:"post" // THe schema reference is post
            }]
});

THE IDS of these things DO EXIST.. but when I call them in the app they show as null..
WHY!!!???

Margaret

@valdimer of course it's possible, but usually it's best to separate your html, css, and javascript
valdimer
@valdimer
Mar 15 2017 02:24
@Gersho really? it looks similar

@Iggy1906 in order to bounce they have to be animated as well. Have a closer look at your script and look if the animated is added or not.

Or simply look at the example ;)

@NinaIsabelle well i'm not there yet in my challenges, so i can't be a real help, but you need to check for consecutive similar values, the grid is only 3*3 so you could make it all by hand, i suppose there's some more efficient way to do it tho
like have a check on the one of the upper left, compare it to the 2 nxt to it, if there's a similar one, rerun for the 3rd , else drop it and do the same on the next one

@NinaIsabelle basically at this point you have to add a function that after every click checks if there are 3 of the same in the array or not:

if true --> assert winner
if false --> keep on playing

Can someone please explain to me the concept of escaping quotes of the same type
If you have a string with many double quotes, this can be difficult to read and write. Instead, use single quotes:

'This string has "double quotes" in it. And "probably" lots of them.'

Instructions
Change the provided string from double to single quotes and remove the escaping.

@indefinite0212 hello
@kryssxx basically in this challenge you escape the " or ' that you want to appear as plain text and not html " " by using \ operator
Gersho
@Gersho
Mar 15 2017 03:35
@kryssxx if you mix them in a sentence, you need only to worry about the ones you used to display your text, if you used a " you can ignore ' and vice versa
kryssxx
@kryssxx
Mar 15 2017 03:37
@saninmersion @Gersho so essentially by me using the \ operator, I do not need either the " or ' quotation marks
Gersho
@Gersho
Mar 15 2017 03:37
"Gersho says \"i'm here to code\" "
or
'Gersho says "i\'m here to code" '
would display Gersho says "i'm here to code"
Sandip Shrestha

No it isn't. You want the the the h2 element and the img to be on one line (row), therefore you only need one row div:
Row div
   Col div —> for h2
       H2
   Close Col div
    Col div —> for img
       <a>img</a>
   Close Col div
close row div

Nest your first image and your h2 element within a single <div class="row"> element. Nest your h2 element within a <div class="col-xs-8"> and your image in a <div class="col-xs-4"> so that they are on the same line.
