Hey guys! I'm stuck on "Use Responsive Design with Bootstrap Fluid Containers". I got the first to ticks just not "Make sure you have nested all HTML elements in .container-fluid. " not sure what I'm missing. Can anyone help?

@blairevibez "View more" should not have quotes
@blairevibez know that it is not bad code but fcc are looking for a specific out put, so precision is key

hey fam. Independent project:

document.addEventListener("DOMContentLoaded", function(event) {
//All code must be below this line

var thumbnailElement = document.getElementsByClassName("smart_thumbnail");

thumbnailElement.addEventListener("click", function(){
alert("I seen  you clickz!");
});

//All code must be above this line
});

Can someone explain why I am getting this error:" Uncaught TypeError: thumbnailElement.addEventListener is not a function
at HTMLDocument.<anonymous> (behavior.js:6)"
this is within an external jscript file, btw

@JenimDacket ok I don't see anything wrong with it as such, but I'm only seeing part of the code. Could you console.log(thumbnailElement) before the event handler and see what it logs?

Roxroy
@roxroy

@TankimusPrime You would get the first instance of that number if there are duplicate numbers in the array.
Like in the second test case getIndexToIns([10, 20, 30, 40, 50], 30) should return 2

Mar 16 2017 00:56
@TankimusPrime In that example above, you push 30 to the array, and it becomes [10, 20, 30, 30, 40, 50]. It doesn't matter which one is yours or the pre-existing element.
If you use .indexOf(30), you get 2

Hello guys.. Im using mongo and accessing an object through its ID. However Mongo is storing the id in a way thats hard to read

{ "_id" : ObjectId("58c9e3007ce7be0f5f107f4e") //this is how mongo stores the id of following object
"name" : "Mt Cootha", "image" : "https://media-cdn.tripadvisor.com/media/photo-s/01/c6/2a/b7/mount-coot-tha-lookout.jpg", "description" : "City Views", "comments" : [ ObjectId("58c9e3007ce7be0f5f107f51") ], "__v" : 1 }

Below the only way i can find it with its ID is with this complicated camps.find

> db.camps.find({_id:ObjectId("58c9e3007ce7be0f5f107f4e")})

Which is a problem because in my app im using this to access it

            res.redirect("/camps/"+found.id);
 //it goes to index site + the id of the object i have stored via object(found).id

So how do i access ({_id:ObjectId("58c9e3007ce7be0f5f107f4e")}) in a js file??
Im getting type cast errror cos it doesnt know what its looking for with .id

how do I do this?: Nest all of your radio buttons inside one div with the class row.
Nest each of your radio buttons inside its own div with the class col-xs-6.
Make sure each of your div elements has a closing tag.

<link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Lobster" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">

<style>
h2 {
font-family: Lobster, Monospace;

@marcxvent okay, first thing to note here, is this if block -
if (contacts[i].hasOwnProperty(prop)) {
      var propList = [];

      for (var j = 0; j < contacts[i].prop.length; j++) {
        propList.push(contacts[i].prop[j]);
      }
      return propList;

Mar 16 2017 01:12
@graciearagon class="silver-.....", to your div tag - add this class, so that the class you created in the style tags, it's changes appear on screen...
@marcxvent inside that if block, all you need to do is return the value of the property prop, so something like return contacts[i][prop];.
Not sure what the for loop in there is supposed to do..

@marcxvent inside that if block, all you need to do is return the value of the property prop, so something like return contacts[i][prop];.

Hey I have a question about my code
<style>
  body {
    background-color: green;
    font-family: Monospace;
  }

</style>

<html>

It says that I need to "Give your body element the color property of green." and "Your h1 element should inherit the color green from your body element."

<style>
body {
background-color: black;
font-family: Monospace;
color: green;
}

<h1 class = "pink-text" </style>
<h1>Hello World!</h1>

this is what i need done :
Your h1 element should have the class pink-text.
Your <style> should have a pink-text CSS class with its color set to pink.
Your h1 element should be pink
I added this "<h1 class = "pink-text" </style>" as a desperate attempt. but it is wrong
sorry, this is what i added , <h1 class = "pink-text"
Manish Giri
@Manish-Giri
Mar 16 2017 02:52

you need to first create a class, quite similar to the example they have on the left
it goes in the style tags

and follows this syntax

<style>
.my-class {
color: red;
}
</style>

<h1 class="my-class">This text will now be red because the my-class is being applied</h1>

@aslicodequeen ok so you've added it to css, but you also have to add the classes to the elements you want to animate like animated bounce. animated is required in all of them and the second one determines which animation it is. Also add infinite to make it run forever

So I have a list of album covers which are also links, but they positon themselves vertically
I want to have them horizontally with a scroll bar if possible
sorry about the lack of coding term knowledge lol
I tried various methods - sometimes only the scroll bar showed up while the albums stayed vertical position and vice versa

Note that in your CSS style element, classes should start with a period. In your HTML elements' class declarations, classes shouldn't start with a period.
Inside your style element, change the h2 selector to .red-text and update the color's value from blue to red.
Give your h2 element the class attribute with a value of 'red-text'.

<style>
<h2 class= "blue-text">

h2 {
color: red;

}
</style>

<h2>CatPhotoApp</h2>

<p>Kitty ipsum dolor sit amet, shed everywhere shed everywhere stretching attack your ankles chase the red dot, hairball run catnip eat the grass sniff.</p>

This is my code:

html

<h1 class="h1">About</h1>

css
.h1 {

}

but it's not working...

Sandip Shrestha
@saninmersion
Mar 16 2017 07:00
@haydennorthcott you dont need class="h1"
h1 is a html element much like <p> <img> and so on
Austin Tice
@AustinTice
Mar 16 2017 07:00
also need a ; to end your last css statement
can't you still make a class called h1 though?

@haydennorthcott give some name to class instead of element name..h1 ispredefined..give classname some custom name

}

and still not luck

and also u dont have to replace href with # u just have to set the attribute to #
Yassirology
@Yassirology
Mar 16 2017 08:50

Its says the following also: Sometimes you want to add a elements to your website before you know where they will link.

This is also handy when you're changing the behavior of a link using jQuery, which we'll learn about later.

*Replace the value of your a element's href attribute with a #, also known as a hash symbol, to turn it into a dead link.
