I have a problem in the Steamroller challenge. my code is working but FCC won't let me pass the test.
var newarr=[];
function steamrollArray(arr) {

  for (var i=0;i<arr.length;i++){
    if (Array.isArray(arr[i])===false){
      newarr.push(arr[i]);

    }else{
      steamrollArray(arr[i]);

    }
  }
  return newarr;

@rudolphh I have a problem in the Steamroller challenge. my code is working but FCC won't let me pass the test.

well the code doesn't work with var as a local

@Manish-Giri @rudolphh unless there is a way to pass it as a local variable and stop it from being changed at every recursive call, then it won't work as a local because every call resets the newarr variable

Mar 20 2017 01:19

@Nathalia-Mota You can add the 'class="smaller-image"' to your image HTML element. It goes between 'img' and 'src'. It would look something like this:

<style>
.class-name {
width: 100px;
}
</style>

While your actual HTML element would like something like this:

<img class="class-name" src="url" alt="description">

@E-Mech and you didn't find this?

The sort method can be conveniently used with function expressions (and closures):

var numbers = [4, 2, 5, 1, 3];
numbers.sort(function(a, b) {
  return a - b;
});
console.log(numbers);

// [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Mar 20 2017 01:43
@NathanVu: required means it must be added. That means you must add a url to a cat image if you want to submit your image. You most likely have experienced something like this before when signing up for something like a social media account, they most likely required a name/username and an email. Otherswise, you wouldn't be able to create an account.

@NathanVu Same as when you book a flight ticket and there's a field (like name - surname) that is marked as required, without it you won't be able to purchase the ticket
@Radascript Are you looking forward to use flexbox?
If so try giving the container the property:

@Radascript I think it's the inline-block that causing the issue. Any space or new line between each block will be counted as a space.
You probably better use float then :)
Gulsvi
@gulsvi
Mar 20 2017 01:55
@codeSmithstater Bootstrap 3 and Bootstrap 4 use different HTML and CSS. You might want to check which version of HTML you're using and which version of the CSS library you have added to your codepen. The collapsible navbar for both versions requires jQuery + Bootstrap.js - another thing to check as well.
Share a link to your codepen if you're still running into issues

Hi everyone! I'm working on "Target the same element with multiple jQuery Selectors." My initial understand was to target multiple elements "button" , the class ".btn" and the ID "#target" in one single .addClass() I looked up on api.jquery.com on how to do this, but I think my syntax is wrong. However I don't know what's wrong about it
$(document).ready(function() {

@makopa well I don't think you need to add it to the package.json as long as it's in that same main directory. However, I think you do need to have something inside the readme, like just type some simple text so it's non-empty, see if it works then.

@ravi0609: There's no such thing as best, it really depends on how you configure it to your liking. Try atom, sublime text, brackets, or visual code for now.

@ravi0609 Sublime is probably the most used. Then there's Atom and VisualStudio is increasing in popularity.
There's not really a best... it's a matter of preference.

Don' forget the "hardcore" editor as emacs and vim; but I won't suggest them to a beginner :)

$(".text-primary").addClass("animated shake");"

Mar 20 2017 05:55

@aisolae for your exercise: "Using .addClass(), add only one class at a time to the same element, three different ways:

Add the animated class to all elements with type button.

Add the shake class to all the buttons with class .btn.

Add the btn-primary class to the button with id #target1."

you need three addClass'es, one for each class.. adding to only one thing.. to cover off all three...
Ai rui 艾瑞
@aisolae
Mar 20 2017 05:56
@DarrenfJ that's what am saying

Only add one class with each of your three selectors.

how to implement it in the above code?

Ok, I can't seem to get a pic on here, but why won't the Lobster font show up in this code: <link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Lobster" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">

<style>
.red-text {
color: red;

p {
font-size: 16px;

}

</style>

<h2 font-family: "Lobster"; class="red-text">CatPhotoApp</h2>

@AlexandriaKemp in css you need to set font family
html { font-family: 'Lobster' }

export default routes;
// index.js

@azaraliyev start noticing it. I'll just make my own express server :)
I'm already kind of deep into this project so I won't start over again.
Moreover it's for fun/personal so it doesn't have to be perfect

Hello! Got stuck on #114. "Make the second child in each of your well elements bounce. You must target the children of element with the target class."
Can you please help?
$(".well:nth-child(1)").addClass("animated bounce");
That is my solution, but it doesn't work.
