May 06 2017 00:26
@Pretzels121609 so, because you're already using bootstrap you don't need to define a btn-block class, you just need to assign the existing btn class(es) to your button element in the html.

@Pretzels121609 it should tell you which classes to assign, you just need to assign them to your button the same way you assigned classes in the earlier lessons to other elements (like your img element up above)

Manish Giri
@Manish-Giri
May 06 2017 00:28

you need to first create a class, quite similar to the example they have on the left
it goes in the style tags

and follows this syntax

<style>
.my-class {
color: red;
}
</style>

<h1 class="my-class">This text will now be red because the my-class is being applied</h1>

@grotberg This is what the instructions say: By making them block elements with the additional class of btn-block, your button will stretch to fill your page's entire horizontal space and any elements following it will flow onto a "new line" below the block.

<button class="btn btn-block">Submit</button>

This button would take up 100% of the available width.

@Pretzels121609 yep, thats right. but you don't need to add a new style (in the <style> tag) bootstrap already has it.
@Pretzels121609 so just assign those classes to the button and it should change styles

XMLHttpRequest cannot load https://quotesondesign.com/wp-json/posts?filter[orderby]=rand&filter[posts_per_page]=1&callback=. then you have additional classes like btn-block or btn-default or btn-primary, based on what you need

Gabe Rotberg

May 06 2017 00:36
@Pretzels121609 bootstrap offers a bunch of built in styles, and they're fairly modular. 'btn' gives it all the default styles, 'btn-block' tells it to be a wide (block) button, etc.

    ? i = 1
    : i = x + 1;

  return 'x' + i + 'y' + y; //here

  y + 1 > 13

a. "Jan" in "January"
b. "Melbourne is" in "Melbourne is great" (note the space!)
c. "burgers" in "Hamburgers"

This is the correct answer. Can anyone help me explain what the first number stand for? Or it goes both ways?

@coder130

<input disabled maxlength="3" size="3" value="10" id="counter">

<textarea onkeyup="textCounter(this,'counter',10);" id="message">
</textarea>

<script>
function textCounter(field,field2,maxlimit)
{
var countfield = document.getElementById(field2);
if ( field.value.length > maxlimit ) {
field.value = field.value.substring( 0, maxlimit );
return false;
} else {
countfield.value = maxlimit - field.value.length;
}
}
</script>

$('textarea').keypress(function(){

@coder130 You can get left characters like this:
var length = $('#mytextarea').val().length;
var maxlength = Number($('#mytextarea').attr('maxlength’));
var left = maxlength - length;
alert(left); // alerting left characters, you can display it to anywhere...
coder130
