Val
@iAurora
May 08 2017 00:08
@MissLisaMN between <button> and </button>
@MissLisaMN does not matter if its before or after the text inside
gmpryb
@gmpryb
May 08 2017 00:09
@MissLisaMN it will just position the icon wherever you put it (before or after the text inside)
I think, if i remember correctly

@MissLisaMN You are supposed to have text there too. Like, Delete etc. But placing for i is right

May 08 2017 00:49
@GlennSG .slice(begin, end); so you have a while loop. i gets incremented by i+=size. In the first loop iteration you can convert the values to arr.slice(0, 2). So 'a', and 'b' will be pushed to the newArray. i had now become 2. The while loop checks i < n which means 2 < 4. 4 because arr.length is 4. Since 2 is less than 4 the loop does another iteration. And the slice now has these values: slice(2, 4) because i is 2 and i+=size is 2 + 2 = 4. Now i+= size also means that i is now 4. The loop stops because i < n is no longer true.

@zootechdrum You used class to style your text before, haven't you? Styling the image is very simlar. You need to determine if the challenge wants you to use a class or to style the html tag (in your case img) directly. Then you need to write a css rule element { } in the <style></style> section where element is either your class or your img tag.

@raz86 to comment out an HTML element, you place the comment tags around

and to uncomment an element, simply delete the tags

@richie97300 You are supposed to have a h2 {color: blue;} in between your <style> </style> tags, not stick it where you put it.
@YaredNe You are having a common error for Chrome users, some challenges seem to give that problem. Most people seem to use a different browser for those challenges, to avoid the problem.

@javajohnHub It's a bit wierd that the project thumbs pop forward on hover very actively yet do not actually bring much action. You kind of expect them to have a pointer cursor and link somewhere when they jump at you like that. The site one has a big clickable image but the other two feel kind of dead. Also wouldn't PDF be a more universal format for the resume? MS Office is a paid app suit, not everyone has that installed. Or you could have an html page version with links to both formats to make it even more universal. Just being nitpicky because you asked for the feedback and because it's my job -) There site is pretty good as it is.

@javajohnHub Thankfully (or unfortunately) we do not run googles and facebooks here. If something is wrong on our sites for a minute or two, no one is going to spam twitter hysterically. Actually even having a site down for few days would be hardly noticed. We have this ... creative freedom -) So I'd put it up whenever it's more or less ready and just fix it as I go (I kind of envy you have a portfolio site at all as I've been doing this for well over decade and I'm still procrastinating on that. @chocobrownie I'm still working up the motivation to do that one too. To make it even more confusing the forum post mentions a text file with a JSON response you can hard code into your code instead of using the API:
Update September 29, 2016: Twitch has changed their API and now requires an API key in order to run queries. If you are using CodePen or GitHub pages to build these, we do not recommend adding an API key to your project for security reasons.

Instead of using Twitch's API, we recommend hard-coding this JSON3.4k into your app as a variable. It is a series of responses for different accounts from Twitch.

@YoungMatthewM I just looked into the post webpage you showed me, the key helpful info I got there is: "The easiest way to resolve this is to use jQuery's JSONP capabilities. From the Twitch API's readme page852:

All API methods support JSON-P by providing a callback parameter with the request.
Also the jQuery documentation175 states:

If the URL includes the string "callback=?" (or similar, as defined by the server-side API), the request is treated as JSONP instead.
Here's an example call to fetch Free Code Camp's Twitch channel data:

$.getJSON('https://api.twitch.tv/kraken/streams/freecodecamp?callback=?', function(data) {
console.log(data);
});"

Hi, I have a question regarding asynchronous function callback: I can set a callback for an individual asynchronous function when I need its returned data to proceed with certain functions. But what if I need data from two asynchronous function to proceed? I need something that performs a callback for the two of them but I don't see a way of doing that.

Grace K
@kog2100

Now we're ready to learn jQuery, the most popular JavaScript tool of all time. Don't worry about JavaScript itself - we will cover it soon.

Before we can start using jQuery, we need to add some things to our HTML.

First, add a script element at the top of your page. Be sure to close it on the following line.

Your browser will run any JavaScript inside a script element, including jQuery.

Inside your script element, add this code: $(document).ready(function() { to your script. Then close it on the following line (still inside your script element) with: });

We'll learn more about functions later. The important thing to know is that code you put inside this function will run as soon as your browser has loaded your page.

This is important because without your document ready function, your code may run before your HTML is rendered, which would cause bugs.

I added it initially above the comment but it didn't work so I said maybe below the comment should as well but it didn't either
@indefinite0212 close my browser and test it how....like restart my browser?

I have just done the tribute page project and am now starting to work on Personal Portfolio Webpage project. Looking at the example I have no idea how to build such a fascinating web page with simple knowledge that has been taught before in freecodecamp lessons.
Is there any source that I can use so that I can pick up the knowledge needed to build such web? Thanks.

@inovramadani search for tutorials of what you want to build. I recommend reading 5-10 tutorials first to train your brain to see the patterns. Then do 15-25 tutorials. Then you will have a lot of knowledge of how to build portfolios... and you will have some projects to put on your portfolio website. If you don't want to do that many, do less. Youtube is also a great resource for tutorials.

Change your h2 element's style so that its text color is red.
