@thekholm80 I just change it to this:

$(document).ready(function() {
            $("#getMessage").on("click", function(){
                $.getJSON("http://quotesondesign.com/wp-json/posts?filter[orderby]=rand&filter[posts_per_page]=1", function(json) {
            $(".message").html(JSON.stringify(json))
          });
            });
          });

still nothing. it should show up with some sort of info like in the tutorial, right?

It's not just the stress that ruins it. It's the reality of having to make someone's else dreams come true. And that's the best case scenario, because most of the time it's their manager's goals that you'll be making a reality. And the manager will be deciding how long it should take you even when they really have no idea how code works.

@awmanthisguy

The problem with writing scripts at the head of a page is blocking. The browser must stop processing the page until the script is download, parsed and executed. The reason for this is pretty clear, these scripts might insert more into the page changing the result of the rendering, they also may remove things that dont need to be rendered, etc.

@JesElizabeth HTML is for structuring your document, deciding that something is a heading, something is a list, something is a paragraph or an image. CSS is for positioning and decorating those elements. Javascript (jQuery) is for giving logic to your pages, it lets you react to what the user does to a page. Usually keeping HTML, CSS and JS in different documents is the best practice but FCC uses embedded code just to save you the trouble of including files

These are the steps it tells me
Create a script element making sure it is valid and has a closing tag.
You should add $(document).ready(function() { to the beginning of your script element.
Close your $(document).ready(function() { function with });
i believe i did it right this is what i did

<script>
$(document).ready(function() {});

this is what my normal react/scss set up looks like:
const path = require('path');
const HtmlWebpackPlugin = require('html-webpack-plugin');
const webpack = require('webpack');

const config = {
  entry: './App/index.js',
  output: {
    path: path.resolve(__dirname, 'dist'),
    filename: 'index_bundle.js',
    publicPath: '/'
  },
  module: {
    rules: [
      { test: /\.(js)$/, use: 'babel-loader' },
      { test: /\.scss$/, use: [ 'style-loader', 'css-loader', 'sass-loader' ]}
    ]
  },
  devServer: {
    historyApiFallback: true
  },
  plugins: [ new HtmlWebpackPlugin({
    template: 'App/index.html'
  })]
};

if (process.env.NODE_ENV === 'production') {
  config.plugins.push(
    new webpack.DefinePlugin({
      'process.env': {
        'NODE_ENV': JSON.stringify(process.env.NODE_ENV)
      }
    }),
    new webpack.optimize.UglifyJsPlugin()
  )
};

module.exports = config;
so you'd use what, pug or jade instead of babel
but the rest would be pretty much the same

then in your package.json file you need
"scripts": {

}
Matthew White
@LordFifth
May 09 2017 02:04
my current setup:
var ExtractTextPlugin = require('extract-text-webpack-plugin');
module.exports = {
    entry: ['./scripts.js', './styles.sass'],
    output: {
        filename: 'webpack_output/build.js'
    },
    module: {
        rules: [
            {
                test: /\.sass$/,
                use: ExtractTextPlugin.extract({
                    fallback: 'style-loader',
                    use: 'css-loader!postcss-loader!sass-loader'
                })
            }
        ]
    },
    plugins: [new ExtractTextPlugin('webpack_output/style.css')]
};

 for(var i=0;i<array.length;i++){
    if(!result.includes(array[i])){

}
  return result;
}

uniteUnique([1, 3, 2], [1, [5]], [2, [4]]);

Nest all of your radio buttons inside one div with the class row.
Nest each of your radio buttons inside its own div with the class col-xs-6.
Make sure each of your div elements has a closing tag.

May 09 2017 03:43

@kyle holm You can set an element's font by using the font-family property.

For example, if you wanted to set your h2 element's font to Sans-serif, you would use the following CSS:

h2 {
font-family: Sans-serif;
}
Make all of your p elements use the Monospace font.

Kyle Holm
@thekholm80
May 09 2017 03:44
@wnaissance ah okay replace the current font with monospace
assuming your style entry for p elements already has a font, if not add it in
Sean Murphy
@Murfdurf
May 09 2017 03:44
it might need to be in the <style> </style> section up above
