@barcexum1 you need to apply class (it starts with period) in style
try this

<style>
.smaller-image{
width: 100px;
}
</style>

<img class="smaller-image" src="https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back. ">

it should work now... I hope

@Basset22 take out the stray “,” between </a></p> It may be confusing the code checker.

@fmccroy now working on the add borders around your elments
<img class="smaller-image"; thick-green-border { border-color: green; border-width: 10px; border-style: solid; }src="https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back. ">

@Basset22 Your code looks correct as far as I can tell, try refreshing your browser
@djfrakes Once you have it moved, you need to add the thick-green-border class to your img class=“” statement
Dax
@djfrakes
May 16 2017 00:05

@maggiejj
May 16 2017 00:05

@djfrakes do not forget to ADD PERIOD in front of .thick-green-border{

YOU NEED THAT PERIOD !!

@djfrakes next -

<img class="smaller-image" src="https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back. ">

@barcexum1 did you get ??

howdy, I'm working my way through the following challenge, "Target the same element with multiple jQuery Selectors"

and have the following, but it's not passing.

<script>
  $(document).ready(function() {
    $("button").addClass(animated);
    $(".btn").addClass(shake);
    $("#target1").addClass(btn-primary);

  });

Hello! I have many errors here. This is the assignment: Then, let's give all elements on your page the color of green by adding color: green; to your body element's style declaration.

Finally, give your body element the font-family of Monospace by adding font-family: Monospace; to your body element's style declaration.

Here is my code:

<style>

body {
<h1>Hello World</h1>
background-color: green;
font-family:monospace;

?
what's wrong
helpingothersismymotto
@helpingothersismymotto

<h4>text-well</h4> @nawaz9
the text should be within the tag sho it will be visible on the screen
Claudio Restifo
@Marmiz
May 16 2017 02:10

@SamanthaB2 the "look" part is made trough CSS.
We can write two blocks that are identical, but if we apply two different CSS rules they'll look like they are made totally different.

(also by pen I mean creating a quick copy that we can see on codepen.io)

@helpingothersismymotto i want the same exact form it's for an essay service website too
Claudio Restifo

So I guess it's expected that your menu looks different than the one in the website: you're missing a crucial part; the CSS
helpingothersismymotto
@helpingothersismymotto
May 16 2017 02:12
@SamanthaB2 okay then you need to start by making form building then only you can achieve what you want ! the looks can be created using CSS as mentioned by @Marmiz
sha
@nawaz9
May 16 2017 02:12
tanks @helpingothersismymotto it's actually <h4>#left-well</h4>
SamanthaB2

You can add Bootstrap to any app by adding the following code to the top of your HTML:

<link rel="stylesheet" href="//maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/3.3.1/css/bootstrap.min.css"/>

In this case, we've already added it for you to this page behind the scenes.

To get started, we should nest all of our HTML in a div element with the class container-fluid.

@theclayster you can add an image by using using the image tag <img> but to make the whole image as a clickable link, you need to nest your <img> in an anchor tag

Change the Font Size of an Element
Font size is controlled by the font-size CSS property, like this:

h1 {
font-size: 30px;
}
Create a second p element after the existing p element with the following kitty ipsum text: Purr jump eat the grass rip the couch scratched sunbathe, shed everywhere rip the couch sleep in the sink fluffy fur catnip scratched.

Inside the same <style> tag that contains your red-text class, create an entry for p elements and set the font-size to 16 pixels (16px).

Note
Due to browser implementation differences, you may need to be at 100% zoom to pass the tests on this challenge.

Also, please do not add a class attribute to your new p element.

Run tests (ctrl + enter)
Reset Help Bug
You need 2 p elements with Kitty Ipsum text.
Make sure each of your p elements has a closing tag.
Your p element should contain the first few words of the provided additional kitty ipsum text.
The first p element should have the class red-text.
Do not add a class attribute to the second p element.
Between the style tags, give the p elements font-size of 16px. Browser and Text zoom should be at 100%.

<style>
.red-text {
color: red;
}

h1 {
font-size:16px;
}
</style>

<h2 class="red-text">CatPhotoApp</h2>

<p class="red-text">Kitty ipsum dolor sit amet, shed everywhere shed everywhere stretching attack your ankles chase the red dot, hairball run catnip eat the grass sniff.</p>

Im just getting started with ES6 and I'm not sure what this instruction is asking me to do: Use arrow function syntax to compute the square of only the positive integers (fractions are not integers) in the array realNumberArray and store the new array in the variable squaredIntegers.
Markus Ivancsics
@ivancsicsmarkus

@Emmanx You should reduce realNumberArray and store the value in squaredIntegers. Inside the reduce, use a arrow function!

Few of the test cases in "Exact Change" challenge doesn't make any sense to me. For e.g.,

checkCashRegister(19.50, 20.00, [["PENNY", 0.50], ["NICKEL", 0], ["DIME", 0], ["QUARTER", 0], ["ONE", 0], ["FIVE", 0], ["TEN", 0], ["TWENTY", 0], ["ONE HUNDRED", 0]]) should return "Closed".

cash = 20.00
price = 19.50
change due = 20.00 - 19.50 = 0.50

cash in drawer = 0.50 * 0.1( because it's penny) = 0.05
So, cash in drawer will always be < change due.
How am I suppose to get "Closed" (i.e., cid === change due)?

May 16 2017 06:55

i am working on bootstrap right now and stuck on the 12-column grid section, the instructions are:
In the Cat Photo App that we're building, we'll use col-xs-, where xs means extra small (like an extra-small mobile phone screen), and is the number of columns specifying how many columns wide the element should be.

Put the Like, Info and Delete buttons side-by-side by nesting all three of them within one <div class="row"> element, then each of them within a <div class="col-xs-4"> element.

The row class is applied to a div, and the buttons themselves can be nested within it.

This is what I did:

<div class="row">
<button class="col-xs-4 btn-block btn-primary">Like</button>
<button class="col-xs-4 btn-block btn-info">Info</button>
<button class="col-xs-4 btn-block btn-danger">Delete</button>
</div>

but its not working...any advice?

@Samuspeng or better add an off too to be sure that you dont bind it multiple times
$("#whereTOCatchTheClick").on('click', function(){
                     $(document).off('click').on('click', function(e){
                                  $("#myPopUp").hide();
                                  $(this).unbind(e);
                      }

                     $("#myPopUp").show(); //this must be hidden with display: none
  });

Thorbjørn Bruarøy
@The2rB
May 16 2017 07:54

@asiashealthzone as @vittorioVT said - the ".classname" should be ".smaller-image" (without "")
And - as we said above - all styles should be within the first <style>-tag (ig you look now, you have two of them).

And - it is normal to feel discouraged. We all do from time to time. When we start experience problems with our code, and we don't see the solution, we have a tendency to try to figure it out and we often make more problems rather than fixing the one that is actually the error. Often you will find that starting over is as easy (easier?) than trying to fix that error you can't find after making a lot of alterations.
