Give your h1 element with the text I am red! the color red.
Use the hex code for the color red instead of the word red.
Give your h1 element with the text I am green! the color green.
Use the hex code for the color green instead of the word green.
Give your h1 element with the text I am dodger blue! the color dodger blue.
Use the hex code for the color dodger blue instead of the word dodgerblue.
Give your h1 element with the text I am orange! the color orange.
Use the hex code for the color orange instead of the word orange.

@nosenal Hi. What the instruction is asking you to do, is give the class red-text a text color of red. You do this by declaring the class by nesting it inside the first tag of the given element.

  1. split the sentence into an array of words

  4. rejoin array to form a string

Hey guys I have a question. So first off. I have Asperger's, which makes programming a perfect fit for the type of brain I have, but I've been having some trouble recently when it comes to writing code from scratch. I understand practically all the concepts in HTML and CSS, but it seems like whenever I open up a new document I freeze up and my brain just starts spinning. It's not that I'm nervous or anything, it's like I start thinking about all the different lines of code I need to write to get to me end product. I don't compartmentalize well and I'm noticing how it's affecting my learning. Any advice of managing workflow?

I think that my issues aren't understanding how to write the code, or what have you...its in understanding what they are asking me for.
Write a function nextInLine which takes an array (arr) and a number (item) as arguments. Add the number to the end of the array, then remove the first element of array. The nextInLine function should then return the element that was removed.
But in the editor....
its already there.

nope @Manish-Giri

Sometimes your HTML elements will receive multiple styles that conflict with one another.

For example, your h1 element can't be both green and pink at the same time.

Let's see what happens when we create a class that makes text pink, then apply it to an element. Will our class override the body element's color: green; CSS property?

Create a CSS class called pink-text that gives an element the color pink.

Give your h1 element the class of pink-text.

Lets add an alt attribute to our img example above:
<img src="https://www.your-image-source.com/your-image.jpg" alt="Author standing on a beach with two thumbs up. ">
Note that in most cases, img elements are self-closing.
Try it with this image:

but I have this and don't know how to add the img element correctly

Let's see what happens when we create a class that makes text pink, then apply it to an element. Will our class override the body element's color: green; CSS property?

Create a CSS class called pink-text that gives an element the color pink.

Give your h1 element the class of pink-text.

<style>
body {
background-color: black;
font-family: Monospace;
color: green;

@platinum001 create a new class using the syntax they give (they give you an example using larger-image)
@platinum001 it goes in the CSS section (the part between the style tags)
then assign it to the existing img tag.. (assigning it as you did with red-text.. i.e. class="className")
@platinum001 think about the red-text you did as an example:
<style>
.red-text {
color: red;
}
</style>
<h2 class="red-text">CatPhotoApp</h2>

Why this code is not satisfying the condition: phoneticLookup("") should equal undefined

code:

// Setup
function phoneticLookup(val) {
var result = "";

// Only change code below this line
var lookup={
"alpha": "Adams",
"bravo": "Boston",
"charlie": "Chicago",
"delta": "Denver",
"echo": "Easy",
"foxtrot": "Frank"
};

// Only change code above this line
return result+=lookup[val];
}

// Change this value to test
phoneticLookup("");

@akanshagautam3751 "" + undefined will return "undefined" (i.e string). Add condition to return lookup value directly, no need to append it to result

but the usual convention is class goes right after the html tag
yah ipsum text is just placeholder text.. " It is a long established fact that a reader will be distracted by the readable content of a page when looking at its layout. The point of using Lorem Ipsum is that it has a more-or-less normal distribution of letters, as opposed to using 'Content here, content here', making it look like readable English. Many desktop publishing packages and web page editors now use Lorem Ipsum as their default model text"

guys, Im stuck with this jQuery challenge:
Use the $("button") selector.
Use the $(".btn") selector.
Use the $("#target1") selector.
Only add one class with each of your three selectors.
Your #target1 element should have the classes animated‚ shake and btn-primary.
Only use jQuery to add these classes to the element.
Im confused what it is asking me to do
<script>
$(document).ready(function() {

});
</script>

@Difdoss it's the button elements you add that #target to
@Difdoss not make a whole new <h4> element with the text
<button class="btn btn-default target" id="target1">#target1</button> like this
for each button with corresponding id to text

@imhighyat if you look, #target1 is both a button and has a btn class. So you can split your function and at the end of the day it will still have the classes from the other declaration
