I am doing this problem but not getting results: inside your script element, add this code: $(document).ready(function() { to your script. Then close it on the following line (still inside your script element) with: });

Can somebody please help me with Iterate Through an Array with a For Loop in JavaScript? Here is my code:

// Example
var ourArr = [ 9, 10, 11, 12];
var ourTotal = 0;

for (var i = 0; i < ourArr.length; i++) {
  ourTotal += ourArr[i];
}

// Setup
var myArr = [ 2, 3, 4, 5, 6];

// Only change code below this line

for (var i = 0; i < arr.length; i++) {
  ourTotal += ourArr[i];
}

The second element in your target elements should bounce.
You should use the :nth-child() function to modify these elements.

Has anyone else had issues with navigation on the coding area? I am finding that I try to put the cursor in a certain area of code and it will simply not go there. Then I try to navigate with arrow keys and it skips. For example, I am trying to edit <p>Things cats love</p> and will not allow me to move the cursor to love. I can click as far as the "h" on things and then it wants to go to the next line.

Create a second p element after the existing p element with the following kitty ipsum text: Purr jump eat the grass rip the couch scratched sunbathe, shed everywhere rip the couch sleep in the sink fluffy fur catnip scratched.

Inside the same <style> tag that contains your red-text class, create an entry for p elements and set the font-size to 16 pixels (16px).

@JansanSelva guess thats why i'm confused. This is what I'm supposed to do. Your h2 element should be red.
Your h2 element should have the class red-text.
Your stylesheet should declare a red-text class and have its color set to red.
Do not use inline style declarations like style="color: red" in your h2 element.

@dizmo21:

  1. This:
    .smaller-image {
    width: 100px;
    }
    should be in your current style. No need for more than one style tag.
  2. You also need to add the class to the img element.

Reference what you did for the h2 element.

Markus Ivancsics
@ivancsicsmarkus
May 27 2017 04:45
@BalerionZ In css, first you have to select the element(s) then comes curly braces ({}) and within those, you specify the style of ‘em.
@BalerionZ So first, let’s select your p elements. In css, you can select tags just by typing their names.

@BalerionZ So:

elementName {
…
}

your elementName now will be p

Hi guys! Can anyone help me? I'm meant to be adding a script element to HTML so I can later move on to using jQuery. This is the code I have so far but nothing is working:

<script> $(document).ready(function() {});
</script>

Here are the instructions I was given:

"Inside your script element, add this code: $(document).ready(function() { to your script. Then close it on the following line (still inside your script element) with: });"

@ivancsicsmarkus you know Reddit? When a user commented on your post or replied to your comment, or someone liked or disliked your post etc. the user must be notified.
If I should store the notifications in a single table then also I have no idea what should be the fields of this table.
Like table name: notifications

@ivancsicsmarkus just because you are learning MongoDB, I don't have to migrate MongoDB it's irrelevant. I'm using MySQL, PostgreSQL. It has to be ACID compliant. That's means I will not use a NoSQL database management system.

@athome8 So:

$("button#target4").html("<em>#target4</em>");

also, jquery uses css-like selecting ^^

@athome8 remember that your button has an id, so you don't need to do $("button#target4").html(..., you can just your id, because it is unique: $("#target4").html(...
@Heshamdahab attibutes goes inside tag elements
@Heshamdahab if color is a attribute for an element named dog, it will be like: <dog color="brown"></dog>

@SydneeL That doesn't seem like a normal element

<green-background>

</green-background>

It should probably be:

<div class="green-background">

Then your css would be:

.green-background {
  background-color: green;
