Does someone know how to responsively set the width of an element to a percentage of another element using jquery or css?
Currently have this is Jquery var jumbotron_width = $(".jumbotron").width(); $(".timeline-panel").width(jumbotron_width*.4);
Where I want "timeline-panel" to be dynamically adjusted to 40% of the width of jumbotron. The problem is this only does it once statically

Call the class you made in css
Cynwenn
@Cynwenn
May 29 2017 00:21

I'm trying to add a third object to the array and I
In this new function, you want to create a new contact object like bob and mary. Instead of having this object's property values be filled with strings though, set them to the appropriate function parameters passed in.
Add this new contact object to the contacts array.
Call add with whatever first name, last name, phone number, and email arguments you like.
Make sure you call the list function, to check if your new entry is added. And delete any other function that logs output in the console, i.e 'search' function.

More specifically, an object can be added to the end of the array with array[array.length] = object.

var bob = {
    firstName: "Bob",
    lastName: "Jones",
    phoneNumber: "(650) 777-7777",
    email: "bob.jones@example.com"
};

var mary = {
    firstName: "Mary",
    lastName: "Johnson",
    phoneNumber: "(650) 888-8888",
    email: "mary.johnson@example.com"
};

var contacts = [bob, mary];

function printPerson(person) {
    console.log(person.firstName + " " + person.lastName);
}

function list() {
    var contactsLength = contacts.length;
    for (var i = 0; i < contactsLength; i++) {
        printPerson(contacts[i]);
    }
}

/*Create a search function
then call it passing "Jones"*/

var search = function (lastName) {
 var   contactsLength = contacts.length;
    for (let i = 0; i < contacts.length; i++ ) {

    if (contacts[i].lastName === lastName) {
        printPerson(contacts[i]);
    }
    }

}

var add= function (firstName,  lastName, email, phoneNumber) {
    // attempting to add a new object at contacts.length index (one index after the last used index so should be undefined before this code
    contacts[contacts.length].firstName = firstName;
    contacts[contacts.length].lastName = lastName;
    contacts[contacts.length].email = email;
    contacts[contacts.length].phoneNumber = phoneNumber;

}
add("Joe", "CODING", "je@co.com", "3-2389-3");
list();

  2. Use that class in the style element to add styling to the element.

@vinceflores:
1.Use the actual link provided. There’s no .jpg at the end:

Try it with this image:
https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat

2.You need some text in the alt attribute. Reference the ex:

alt="Author standing on a beach with two thumbs up."

<html>

      <meta content = "text/html; charset = ISO-8859-1" http-equiv = "content-type">

      <script type = "application/javascript">
         function loadJSON(){
            var data_file = "http://www.tutorialspoint.com/json/data.json";
            var http_request = new XMLHttpRequest();
            try{
               // Opera 8.0+, Firefox, Chrome, Safari
               http_request = new XMLHttpRequest();
            }catch (e){
               // Internet Explorer Browsers
               try{
                  http_request = new ActiveXObject("Msxml2.XMLHTTP");

               }catch (e) {

                  try{
                     http_request = new ActiveXObject("Microsoft.XMLHTTP");
                  }catch (e){
                     // Something went wrong
                     alert("Your browser broke!");
                     return false;
                  }

               }
            }

            http_request.onreadystatechange = function(){

               if (http_request.readyState == 4  ){
                  // Javascript function JSON.parse to parse JSON data
                  var jsonObj = JSON.parse(http_request.responseText);

                  // jsonObj variable now contains the data structure and can
                  // be accessed as jsonObj.name and jsonObj.country.
                  document.getElementById("Name").innerHTML = jsonObj.name;
                  document.getElementById("Country").innerHTML = jsonObj.country;
               }

            http_request.open("GET", data_file, true);

I check the console and get the : was loaded over HTTPS, but requested an insecure script 'http://ip-api.com/json/?callback=jQuery111109835999813848009_1496032892778&_=1496032892779'.
