First, you need to find the form element in the code, @nadie93. Then it wants you to add an attribute to it.

@Ellyria
Jun 01 2017 00:13
I'm sorry, @nadie93. It wants you to find your text element and nest that in a form element. So that's the first step.
Then it gives you an attribute that you should add to the form element.

what text is currently in that button? write that between <em></em> you want it to look exactly the same, just emphasised
you are essentially replacing what is between <button></button>
which currently says #target4

i'm trying to change the size of only one statement in the same class

if that didn't make sense, the prompt is: Create a second p element after the existing p element with the following kitty ipsum text: Purr jump eat the grass rip the couch scratched sunbathe, shed everywhere rip the couch sleep in the sink fluffy fur catnip scratched.

Inside the same <style> tag that contains your red-text class, create an entry for p elements and set the font-size to 16 pixels (16px)

None of my tests are showing as passed:
Create a script element making sure it is valid and has a closing tag.
You should add $(document).ready(function() { to the beginning of your script element.
Close your $(document).ready(function() { function with });

Use the $("button") selector.
Use the $(".btn") selector.
Use the $("#target1") selector.
Only add one class with each of your three selectors.
Your #target1 element should have the classes animated‚ shake and btn-primary. THIS IS REALLY CONFUSING ME WHAT I CAME UP WITH:

Your new image should be below your old one and have the class img-responsive.
Your new image should not have the class smaller-image.
Your new image should have a src of https://bit.ly/fcc-running-cats.

};

myObject[myVar] === 'shoes'
myObject.pink === 'shoes'

Has anyone had any issues when using CodePen on Windows 10? I just switched from a Macbook Air to a Surface Pro this evening, which will be a permanent switch, and am experiencing some issues with my code in CodePen. I can go into more detail on the exact issue but the code worked seamlessly on my MacBook and now that I'm on a Windows 10.

Yeah, it's weird. I am still plugging away at my personal portfolio and put an image in at the top. Image works some of the time and I don't change the code for the HTML or CSS, just continually hit run and it eventually works. Maybe a CodePen thing then? Or could still be my code, I have to go through it. @alexanderkopke

@wookiee420 Inside the style tags, you write the styles to style a particular element, like

selector {
property: value;
}

this is how CSS is written

now selector can be a class like .red-text, or an html element like h2
try it out with this hint.

@veda2003 the <input> tag lets you get input from the user. it can be one of many types, like text, email, radio, checkbox, etc. it's used to gather information you want to collect from the user that you can later use for things like storing to a database...

Quick question on inverse regular expressions in javascript: in a previous exercise they told me to append + to the expression to allow it to find all of the expressions in, for this example, a string. var testString = "How many non-space characters are there in this sentence?";
var expression = /\S/g;
var nonSpaceCount = testString.match(expression).length;

so why is it that the expression here (inverse expression \S) returns the amount of single characters, and appending + returns the amount of words? is that just... the way the code works?

let me rephrase my question here actually: In regular expressions, it says that adding \g after the expression means global, and for this example it will search the entire string. It also describes + as "Appending a plus sign (+) after the selector, e.g. /\d+/g, allows this regular expression to match one or more digits." -- matching 1 or more of the regular expression in the string. so what's the difference?

Does anybody here know the best way to loop through an ajax call? I basically want to loop through a list of URLs, from there, I wan to add every one that returns with an error into a new array.
var links = [];

// get all hrefs inside the div with class .ic-Layout-contentMain
$('.ic-Layout-contentMain').find('a').each(function() {
    links.push($(this).attr('href'));
    // add the url to the array links
});

var brokenLinks = [];
// this is the array I would like to add the broken links to
for(var i = 0; i < links.length; i++){
        $.ajax({
    type: 'HEAD',
    url: url,
    success: function() {
        console.log("looks good");
    },
    error: function() {
       brokenLinks.push(links[i]);
    // trying to push the broken link into the array from this loop
    // However, I keep getting a list with undefined items
    }
});
};
