@brisourceful assuming your Node class has references to the left and right node like this

class Node {
    int data;
    Node left, right;
}

your search method could be like

private int findMinValue(Node start) {
Node current = start;
//recursively move to the left till you reach null
while(current != null) {
  current = current.left;
}

//at this point, current node is the node at the left most position
return current.data;
}

5millerk
@5millerk

so the follow question then is, why? They don't reference columns or rows anywhere else in the code that I noticed. How does it know which column to put stuff in? if I remove the row and column classes and just keep a plain <div> how will that change the way the page looks?
Luke Miller
@dalumiller
Jun 13 2017 00:41
@5millerk that's why you'll want to make IDs and classes to target the specific <div col> you are wanting
How it affects the way the page looks? One thing is that it eliminates some need for adjusting margins. Another thing is that it can automatically scale your page for various screen sizes (biggest plus for using bootstrap)

@dalumiller sorry, having a hard time figuring out. Tried command+ control+shift+3 and then command + V but it didn't work. Basically I am on the first html module and it wants me to assign a silver background to a div class I have created. Aka list of what cats hate and love. These are the instructions it gave me ...

You can set an element's background color with the background-color property.

For example, if you wanted an element's background color to be green, you'd put this within your style element:

.green-background {
background-color: green;
}
Create a class called silver-background with the background-color of silver. Assign this class to your div element.

Am I not understanding how the filter is being applied? is that why its giving [1,2,3,1,2,3] function destroyer(arr) {

var args = Array.prototype.slice.call(arguments);
args.splice(0,1);
return arr.filter(function(element) {
return args.indexOf(element) === 1;

}

destroyer([1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3], 2, 3);

filter recives a function as parameter
and check the elements with it, if that function returns true, that elements will be keep in the array
if not, it will delete it
or not include it , better phrased

@NahuelOvejero okay It cleared up the fogginess in my mind a little. I know you would never write the following code but can you help me figure out why 1,1 would return 1,2,3,1,2,3

function destroyer(arr) {

var args = Array.prototype.slice.call(arguments);
args.splice(0,1);
return arr.filter(function(element) {
return args.indexOf(element) === 1,1<-----------------

});
}

destroyer([1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3], 2, 3);

jQuery has a function called .prop() that allows you to adjust the properties of elements. Disable only the target1 button.<script>
$(document).ready(function() {
$("#target1").css("color", "red");
$("#target1").prop("disable", true);

});
</script>

<div class="container-fluid">
<h3 class="text-primary text-center">jQuery Playground</h3>
<div class="row">
<div class="col-xs-6">
<h4>#left-well</h4>
<div class="well" id="left-well">

<button class="btn btn-default target" id="target2">#target2</button>
<button class="btn btn-default target" id="target3">#target3</button>
</div>
</div>
<div class="col-xs-6">
<h4>#right-well</h4>
<div class="well" id="right-well">

I'm trying to understand the for loops with nested arrays. I realize I will need a for loop inside of another for loop, but I'm still confused about something. I've looked at a few other sites for explanations of how to do this and keep coming across the following code(posted below) (in varying ways) and don't understand what the (var j=0 ...); is doing. It appears to do the exact same thing as the prior for loop, just with a "j" instead of an "i". Can someone help explain the difference?

for(var i = 0; i < cubes.length; i++) {
var cube = cubes[i];
for(var j = 0; j < cube.length; j++) {
display("cube[" + i + "][" + j + "] = " + cube[j]);
}
}

@NahuelOvejero yeah okay so args equals [2,3] so when I put 1,1 it calls the original array and filters [1,2,3,1,2,3]. Is it because its the first array function destroyer(arr) {

var args = Array.prototype.slice.call(arguments);

args.splice(0,1);
return arr.filter(function(element) {
return args.indexOf(element) === 1,1
;
});

}

I'm trying to create two methods for finding the min and max of a BST. This is what I have so far:

function BinarySearchTree(node) {
this.root = null;
// change code below this line
function findMin(node) {
let current = this.root;
while(current.left !== null){
current = current.left;
}
return current.value;
}

function findMax(node){
let current = this.root;
while(current.right !== null){
current = current.right;
}
return current.value;
}
// change code above this line
}
