Hey guys I am looking at different types of forms for my Portfolio, and I was searching on Google for some examples and I came across a website that showed this one, but I cant seem to find an explanation for these lines of code
.form-style-1 input[type=text],
.form-style-1 input[type=date],
.form-style-1 input[type=datetime],
.form-style-1 input[type=number],
.form-style-1 input[type=search],
.form-style-1 input[type=time],
.form-style-1 input[type=url],
.form-style-1 input[type=email],
textarea,
select{
box-sizing: border-box;
-webkit-box-sizing: border-box;
-moz-box-sizing: border-box;
border:1px solid #BEBEBE;
padding: 7px;
margin:0px;
-webkit-transition: all 0.30s ease-in-out;
-moz-transition: all 0.30s ease-in-out;
-ms-transition: all 0.30s ease-in-out;
-o-transition: all 0.30s ease-in-out;
outline: none;
}
.form-style-1 input[type=text]:focus,
.form-style-1 input[type=date]:focus,
.form-style-1 input[type=datetime]:focus,
.form-style-1 input[type=number]:focus,
.form-style-1 input[type=search]:focus,
.form-style-1 input[type=time]:focus,
.form-style-1 input[type=url]:focus,
.form-style-1 input[type=email]:focus,
.form-style-1 textarea:focus,
.form-style-1 select:focus{

-moz-box-shadow: 0 0 8px #88D5E9;
-webkit-box-shadow: 0 0 8px #88D5E9;
box-shadow: 0 0 8px #88D5E9;
border: 1px solid #88D5E9;
}

How do I go about turning off the notification sound once I clicked on the Help button in FCC. Every time someone posts something, I hear the notification tones and I would rather only hear stuff that was directed at me.

At the bottom of this code I"m about to send, it ends with });
I understand the ; is to end the first $ in $(document). The } makes sense to, but why is that parenthesis there?
<script>
  $(document).ready(function() {
    $("button").addClass("animated bounce");
    $(".well").addClass("animated shake");
    $("#target3").addClass("animated fadeOut");
    $("#target1").removeClass("btn-default");
     $("#target2").removeClass("btn-default");

jQuery has a function called appendTo() that allows you to select HTML elements and append them to another element.

For example, if we wanted to move target4 from our right well to our left well, we would use:

does .appendTo only replace an id?

The challenge is to insert an <img> element into an <a> element. Here's what I have done:

In my challenge it says:
@davidlair
"Now let's try moving elements from one div to another.

jQuery has a function called appendTo() that allows you to select HTML elements and append them to another element.

For example, if we wanted to move target4 from our right well to our left well, we would use:

$("#target4").appendTo("#left-well");

Move your target2 element from your left-well to your right-well."

Here is my code:

<script>
  $(document).ready(function() {
    $("#target1").css("color", "red");
    $("#target1").prop("disabled", true);
    $("#target4").remove();
    $("#target2").appendTo()
  });
</script>

<!-- Only change code above this line. -->

<div class="container-fluid">
  <h3 class="text-primary text-center">jQuery Playground</h3>
  <div class="row">
    <div class="col-xs-6">
      <h4>#left-well</h4>
      <div class="well" id="left-well">
        <button class="btn btn-default target" id="target1">#target1</button>
        <button class="btn btn-default target" id="target2">#target2</button>
        <button class="btn btn-default target" id="target3">#target3</button>
      </div>
    </div>
    <div class="col-xs-6">
      <h4>#right-well</h4>
      <div class="well" id="right-well">
        <button class="btn btn-default target" id="target4">#target4</button>
        <button class="btn btn-default target" id="target5">#target5</button>
        <button class="btn btn-default target" id="target6">#target6</button>
      </div>
    </div>
  </div>
</div>

My question is this: How does it know to replace the "right-well" id? What if I had multiple id's? Is it because the left-well and the right-well call upon the same type of property?

or does the left-well just take precedence because it's being used in jQuery?
I understand what I have to do, I don't understand why it works.

Does it take precedence and negate "left-well" because "right-well" is being used in jQuery, and jQuery is considered last in order? And the last in order is what takes precedence?

Jun 20 2017 02:06
@thekholm80 Understood. And I realize now that by giving a certain element its own ID, you can call upon that ID later. I was thinking of it only the other way around, where you would add an ID to css and then use that ID like you would a class.

I am confused with the algorithm challenge - Confirm the Ending, I got everything to pass except for 1 case: confirmEnding("Open sesame", "same") should return true.
sesame and same are not the same shouldn't this return false?

Little confused about what they're asking, because I added font-size 16px; under .red-text as well as making a whole new class under style but it doesnt work?

@SuitedHound you're not suppose to add another class here. You just give all paragraphs the font-size of 16px. The code you post before would be sufficient to do this. No need to add anything else to the paragraphs themselves
