rushendra
@rushendrarushi
Jul 13 2017 03:32
yeah i should have aware of that

but if i want to make the background color black it's not effecting the whole page
@SourceHorse
Ross Scarborough
@SourceHorse
Jul 13 2017 03:42
you can change that in your body CSS
try removing it from the column and putting it up there with your body under the margin-top thing we did earlier
out of the container div
@GingerChew sorry I'm not quite there yet, still learning js.
Claudio Restifo
@Marmiz
Jul 13 2017 03:51
@GingerChew your function is working, it's returning a random quote.
Now you need to append it to the screen
in vanilla JS you can use innerHTML

@Basitomania first, you shouldn't use . and [ ] at the same time
.["glove box"]
when the property name has spaces, you can use [ ] directly
like - .inside["glove box"]
@Basitomania last, this whole thing myStorage.car.inside["glove box"]; - returns the value of the property glove box, you need to assign it to the variable provided

  let num = arr[0].length;
  for (let i = 0; i < arr.length - 1; i++) {
    if (arr[i + 1].length > arr[i].length) {
      num = arr[i + 1].length;
    }
  };
  return num;
}

console.log(findLongestWord("The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog"));

This function shoud return the length of the longest word in the provided sentence, but it returns 4 instead of 6;

@scrimiil your logic is flawed.
it compares the lengths of two consecutive words, and if the length of the i+1th word is larger than ith word, it makes num equal to that length
in all this, you're never preserving the length of the actual largest word.

@DonAfan the col-sm-offset-3 creates 2 empty columns on the either side of col-sm-6.thereby putting your list to center(coz there is equal space at either side)

@12annumishra17 if (myObj.hasOwnProperty("checkProp")); this line is wrong. You can't have quotes around checkProp
also you probably shouldn't have a ; after the if ()

does anyone know why my placeholder images aren't lining up in a row with my text for each one underneath? I got the text to line up just fine but then i started trying to get the pictures to float above each bit of text and it's all gone horribly wrong :( https://codepen.io/DrGianPHD/pen/gRBjEg

@DrGianPHD Don't worry happens to all of us. Just start from scratch and if you find a problem handle it their and then due to it could affect other elements.
