@MikeJSchorah often the term Call To Action is referred to buttons that stands bolder on a page to attract the user attention.
Sometimes it's bigger and more colourful than the rest of the page, and often leads to an important action:

So I solved the roman numeral thing by doing a switch case and just doing switch

 var text='';
switch(num) {
    case num:
        text= 'Roman Numeral';

for litterally all their requirements. Now I know that is not what they want me to do but it was funny that it worked I think it should hide half of those requirements so that people don't try to past like i did and you welcom :)

Creating two arrays, one with the Roman Numerals and one with the decimal equivalent for the new forms will be very helpful. I don't understand why I would use a decimal equivalent ?

It's called parallel arrays.
The reason you use them is so that when you follow the algorithm and divide your decimal number (let's say it's 34) by 10, you know which roman numeral corresponds to 10.
so you can say, Ah, there are 3 10's and put 3 X's in your string.

@baseballpoetess It helped me to practice it a bunch of times by hand until I could see how my brain was thinking through it. I seriously filled 2 sheets of scrap paper just converting those. lol.

The point is, you need to map it. Four steps.
  • understand the problem
  • map the solution
  • impement your map
  • evaluate your implementation
and you may need to do the process multiple times .... step four may find you going... but I got the wrong answer....

If you used WP there are some good profile plugins.... you create the people you want to proflie as users on your site of whatever privelege level you choose.

Decimal is our number system becuase it's base 10 -- everything is powers of ten and the root for ten is deci.

I called my decimal array "divisors" because that's how I used them.
if they had 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, A, B, C, D, E, and F, it would be hexidecimal .... and the . between 13A.F4 would be a hexidecimal point.

you get 3 by dividing your input number by your largest decimal number that fits
and then you have a remainder. You have to capture the remainder. How do you get a remainder in javascript?

He did say the cat's name (right intonation, wrong sounds) and tapped the cat's tree where she usually sits like I do when I think the cat might want scritches .... so i know he pays attention.
he has no teeth so articulation is just not there yet.
But yeah. My kids don't code so he's going to.

@Mr-Li-admin now you have there a value={this.state.something}, and that makes the value of the element what you expect but it is not editable, if you change it to defaultValue={this.state.something} then the element is editable and you can access its onChange event

would you consider developing on your pc? it makes much more sense with the advanced challenges, and especially with react, you will have really good debugging helpers from the react library
here for example you should chagne the onchange to onChange, but react would notify you about it in a sec if you would to do it on your pc

try to work with passing the event into the handler:
updata(event){
       var newValue = event.currentTarget.value;
        console.log(newValue );
}
if you see you value in the console, I guess you should be able to move on from there, have to get back to my work, good luck :)

I am doing the npm tutorial on code9 and in the dist tag section I can't seem to properly add the dist tag, no matter if I get an error or if the add dist-tag command succeeds I still only have 1 dist-tag when I npm dist-tag ls. Can anyone help with this.? Tried many variations of the sample code and code from the dist-tag help such as

You can change the background-image to just background, and then you should make sure that your filename extension is case sensitive

you'll need to know relational database management (rdbms) for managing, searching your files.

Hello, I have a React question. I’m trying to use the “programming pattern” of separating presentational components from container components, and using the container components as stateless functional components, but it’s starting to get look silly to pass around 8 props to the container component. is this normal?

There won't be a property that says "offline" or "online" - part of the challenge is studying the JSON returned to see the differences and identify what data to collect.
Plenty of data in those three links to determine offline/online status though

yeah, postman is like required to work developing apis. they have a chrome extension also
