I'm trying to get the this.image function inside my Cell constructor function to print a randomly generated image in the console when I console.log a new instance of the Cell object
https://github.com/AmitP88/Knights-of-the-Round/tree/gh-pages/js

I think I'm missing something, but I can't figure out what
Nahuel Ovejero
@NahuelOvejero
Sep 18 2017 06:58 UTC
this.html would change the button to X
why don't change directly the value ?
@AmitP88 seems like populator takes 2 params
Amit Patel
@AmitP88
Sep 18 2017 07:04 UTC

@NahuelOvejero yeah, it takes an x and y param. I tried doing this:

    function populator(x,y) {
        var img = new Image();
        img.src = randomTile(tileImgs);

        img.onload = function() {
            ctx.drawImage(img, x,y);
        }

        return img.src;
    }

    // object that will serve as the grid container for tiles
    var grid = [];
    grid.width = canvas.width;
    grid.height = canvas.height;

    // constructor function that will be used to generate multiple instances of the Cell object to populate the grid
    var Cell = function(){
        "use strict";
        this.width = 100;
        this.height = 100;
        this.image = function(){
            return populator(100,100);
        }
    };

    console.log(new Cell());

but it still didn't print the generated image in the console. All I get is image: f

great!
remember, if you put return in a function, it exits that block
this.something = return... ;
will end
the function already gaves you the src, but welp, it was a silly mistake from return x)

Hello everyone, I'm doing the algorithm challenge where you have to return the string with the first letter capitalized.
for (var i = 0; i <= splited.length; i++) {
upperCased = (splited[i].charAt(0).toUpperCase() +
splited[i].slice(1).toLowerCase());
}
I can't get "charAt" working. I understand it needs a string, but I can't figure out the syntax! Could someone point out what I'm doing wrong?

the next week they answer me "we are too busy now, next week we are going to have an interview" , next one "I was sick, sorry"

Hi everyone. a little question to you all. I've done this one "Make Unique Objects by Passing Parameters to our Constructor" like this
var Car = function(wheels, seats, engines) {
this.wheels = wheels;
this.seats = seats;
this.engines = engines;
};

var myCar = new Car(6, 3, 1);

var myCar;

and it works but when I tried to change function parameters directly into numbers it didn't work. First I must change it into some string (wheels, seats, engines) ann only then below I can change it into(6,3,1). Why couldn't I change it directly in a function?

I used styled-components library, in it, you can add global style for any styled component

ok, got it.

add css stylesheet to component folder and import './customStyle.css'
to the component js. this is in styled-components, but I can bet it's similar

just use backticks when adding the css

@ericmiller777 well from my understanding, you want it to be the same color if it's disabled or not ? ni that case adding a class and forcing color ? (!important)

@piteto thant works perfectly
if your translateing it id say its fine
since useing code snippets is fine

Sep 18 2017 23:26 UTC
Not quite perfect, you'll see on hover it's a little different - but modifying that depends on the button style (primary, secondary, success, warning, etc)
If you need to customize further, search for "disabled" here: https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/bootstrap/4.0.0-beta/css/bootstrap.css
Or like @Gersho says, you could choose a different way to disable it - like adding a class that uses pointer-events: none @ericmiller777

@piteto works fine for my purposes, im useing btn-primary
