did you use a audio library?
just1witness
@just1witness
Oct 01 2017 01:34
https://codepen.io/Just1witness/pen/veEawm
I did use Howler, for ease.
The key for me though was to upload my audio files on a glitch project and link them from that. You'll notice I used a few file formats, but I think I only needed mp3 doing it that way. @ericmiller777

Oct 01 2017 01:46
useing howl fixed it?
just1witness
@just1witness
Oct 01 2017 01:48
No howler didn't fix it. It was the file format and source. Something about the way glitch linked the audio files. Linking from the glitch projects assets fixed it.

try playing the audio on my timer
I could probably delete everything but the mp3, the other ones are probably dead weight..... unlessssss
just1witness
@just1witness
Oct 01 2017 01:54
Maybe the reason it isn't working on my current project is because it plays one of the other file formats and therefore fulfills the "sound being played at least once first" requirement. I have only mp3 files on the second project.... I have a hunch it's the webm one that's working based on fixes I found on howlers documentation... testing now
Nope, only the mp3 files are needed, glitch is the key.

@just1witness

@ericmiller777 actually now that I'm looking at this closer the first file that plays isn't from glitch. I grabbed it off a webpage using the downLoadthemAll extension for FF.
Goes to show how quick I forget what I did, lol
Eric Miller
@ericmiller777
Oct 01 2017 03:01
@Gersho @just1witness what i did was i played each of the audio files when the player clicked start but with sound1.volume = 0.00000001;
that way the player cant hear it but the audio is initialized

Hey
I'm completely new to this writing code and all, it's starting off more as a hobby right now, but..
in some of the challenges I ran into a bunch of cases where I could put some class attributes in existing elements without having to create a division for them separately, and they look the same on the cat photo app, so I'm wondering if the div is necessary. Maybe someone can really break it down for me quick?
Eric Miller
@ericmiller777
Oct 01 2017 06:32
@JLNV the div is like a group, it "attaches" things together.
piteto

Tiago Correia
@tiagocorreiaalmeida
Oct 01 2017 19:33

David Chen
@Obiwan777

    <select name=""  id="">

        <?php
if ($object = $dbObject->prepare("SELECT bnum, bname FROM kjvbookmap WHERE bsect = ? ORDER by bnum"));
{
    foreach ($sections as $bsect => $sectname)
    {
        $object->bind_param("s",$bsect);
        $object->execute();
        $object->bind_result($num, $bname);
        print("\t<optgroup lable=\"$sectname\">\n");
        while($object->fetch())
        {
            print("\t\t<option value=\"$bnum\">$bname</option>\n");
        }
        print("\t</optgroup>\n");
    }
    $object->close();
}
this is just a basic idea
I need to make three optgroups, one for Category searches, the other two for book searches from each of the current two categories. Section names are used for optgroup labels, and for options in the Category section; book number and names are used for options in the two category sections (old stuff and new stuff).
there is a view in database. which have bsect(booksection), bnum(book number), and bname(bookname)
there is a table stores category, bsect, and sectname is the columns

SELECT kjvbookmap.bnum, kjvbookmap.bname FROM kjvbookmap,section WHERE kjvbookmap.bsect = section.bsect and bsect = ?
you need 2 connect those 2 tables
by using where and say where they are equal
try to run this query
SELECT kjvbookmap.bnum, kjvbookmap.bname FROM kjvbookmap,section WHERE kjvbookmap.bsect = section.bsect and bsect = "N"
and tell me what you get back
