How can I use the link in 27th Line JS to add background image or icon to https://codepen.io/lion18/pen/yzrKQw

@lion18 - you have to find out how to access the icons. And the location (in the returned data) where you can get the icon property and value should be var icon = data.weather[1].icon ;.
The data that is returned is a code for a particular icon in an icon set. I don't know the way to reference that - it must be described in the API documentation. Let me see if I can find it and help you.
@lion18 - actually, I see that the brief instructions do you data.weather[0].icon but for the data that I received for my location, it was in data.weather[1].icon... I don't know if that's a change or just some inconsistency?

@lion18 - I found some information at this freecodecamp redditlink and using that, I made a couple modifications to your Pen and got it to work. Basically, once you make sure you have the icon value (as I said, I got it from a slightly different location in the returned data, as shown in my previous comments) this code worked:

          var iconBase2 = 'http://openweathermap.org/img/w/'
          var iconURL =  iconBase2 + icon + '.png';
          $("#image").attr("src", iconURL);

I don't know if it's still legit to get the icons from the openweathermap site, or if there is a way to access them through the fcc-weather-api.glitch.me site? But once you get the proper icon name, the code above works... There might be other options, too...

the header covers the hero
the problem is this
.html_header_top.html_header_sticky #header { position: fixed: }
If I eliminate the fixed position, it works but I lose the sticky header.
my friend told me this
You could use scrollspy to look for the scroll event and add the .html_header_sticky class onscroll in JavaScript or jQuery.
ive never done that before and not sure how
thats what i need help with

ive been making some changes, heres the issue now, .html_header_top.html_header_sticky #top #wrap_all #main {
padding-top: 140px !important; } this is what was causing the header to overlap on the calendar, the 140px was 0px, once i changed it to 140 its fine now, the issue i have now is that the header is no longer transparent on the homepage as it was before with the 0px. now what you see is a gray header
