Can anyone help me track down where this build error is when minifying my code in production mode? This is the error i get in my console with the corresponding minified file, app.js. It gives a line and row number, but I cant track down which chunk it belongs to.

i make a turkey burger that competes with cow. I found the recipe from America's Test Kitchen. I bought a burger from a burger joint near by my patties competed well, so if you like turkey i'll have go use dry ice and fedex, where shall i ship. :smile:

@kbaig bro i thought $('') can contain the id
hello world!
trying to use jquery to hide list with the quotes
any one awake?
Kyle Holm
@thekholm80
Mar 10 2018 20:51
@gishy1 your list items hide when i click them
although, i think you probably wanted $("#list") not $("li")
gishy1
@gishy1
Mar 10 2018 20:52
hmmm is that because i included click/
Kyle Holm
@thekholm80
Mar 10 2018 20:52
.click() listens for a click and then executes the code

$("#list") targets the element with id='list'
# means ID
you can go back through the jquery stuff if you need a refresher
gishy1
@gishy1
Mar 10 2018 20:54
oh then does that mean when i target the class i have to include the dot (.)?
Kyle Holm
@thekholm80
Mar 10 2018 20:55
yep
# is id, . is class
if you leave both out, it looks for an element by that name
so $("div") looks for <div>, $("#myDiv") looks for id='myDiv' and $(".myDivs") looks for class='myDivs'

I'm a bit unsure as to how these glitter room works or where I should be when I post something, but here I am with what could be an easy problem. First off, I'm just a web designer not a programmer. I looked at the list of regular expressions and went "whaaatt?" My problem is that my previous HTML editor went corrupt and threw my website files all over my computer. I've managed to pull most of the files together or replace them. My current problem is that I'm unable to get my web pages to display my website banners. I have changed the coding, position, renamed the files, but no matter what I do there's a big splashy empty spot at the top of my web pages. Does this have anything to do the the fold or line functions that I've seen mentioned in some of the above posts. I need this site in shape for a scheduled giveaway event. Any help will be most appreciated.

@thekholm80 also how can i have the list under the button?
Kyle Holm
@thekholm80
Mar 10 2018 21:04
image.png
isn't it under the button?
@ConnieFlynn_twitter sorry without seeing any code it's hard to guess at what the problem could be
gishy1
@gishy1
Mar 10 2018 21:08
@thekholm80 what i mean is have the list appear after clicking the button
but the first step would be to have the list included inside the button ?no
Kyle Holm
@thekholm80
Mar 10 2018 21:09
@gishy1 codepen fork
click the list, it goes away
click the button it returns
gishy1
@gishy1
Mar 10 2018 21:13
@thekholm80 yes how then can i have it appear and dissapear with the same button?
also @thekholm80 how can i have the individual quotes come not the whole list?
Kyle Holm
@thekholm80
Mar 10 2018 21:16
i think maybe you should rethink your approach
what is your end goal?
same button hiding/unhiding
gishy1
@gishy1
Mar 10 2018 21:17
@thekholm80 well i wanted to have the quotes listed then have them cycled through individually
@thekholm80 if you have a more effecient route , please feel free to suggest.
Kyle Holm
@thekholm80
Mar 10 2018 21:18
i would think maybe store the quotes in an array, then cycle through the indicies
gishy1
@gishy1
Mar 10 2018 21:19
@thekholm80 not a bad idea
would i have to document.write to have it print on the page ?
Kyle Holm
@thekholm80
Mar 10 2018 21:19
no
there are a million different ways to do it, document.write is nowhere near the best
gishy1
@gishy1
Mar 10 2018 21:20
what would be your suggestion bro?
Kyle Holm
@thekholm80
Mar 10 2018 21:20
i'd suggest doing the FCC jQuery lessons again
there's a lot of stuff there that would make your life easier

im trying to do a migration but it comes up with these errors. i'm not sure how to fix and it says column already exists but which table?
Kyle Holm
@thekholm80
Mar 10 2018 23:36
i'd assume table tags
maybe?
Juli Cheng
@julicheng
Mar 10 2018 23:57
oh right i don't know why i didn't think tags was a table
do u know how i would edit it to follow that rule?

``` public function up()
{
Schema::table('tags', function (Blueprint $table) {
$table->string('slug')->unique()->after('name');
});
}
/**
 * Reverse the migrations.
 *
 * @return void
 */
public function down()
{
    Schema::table('tags', function (Blueprint $table) {
        $table->dropColumn('slug');
    });
}
}```
 public function up()
    {
        Schema::table('tags', function (Blueprint $table) {
            $table->string('slug')->unique()->after('name');
        });
    }
    /**
     * Reverse the migrations.
     *
     * @return void
     */
    public function down()
    {
        Schema::table('tags', function (Blueprint $table) {
            $table->dropColumn('slug');
        });
    }
}
