May 22 2018 03:20

I got an internship, so the company gave me a task that I should complete

task:
build a tool that searches for pull requests
Pull Requests(PRs) should meet the following criteria:
-PR has an 'open' status
-You are the reviewer of the PR
-You didnt approved or declined the PR

Requirements:
-the tool should be able to retrieve PRs from both private and public repos
-you should be able to authenticate to Bitbucket within the tool
-the tool accepts optional list of repos to look at, if not specified it searches over
all repos(personal and shared)
-the tool opens all found pull requests in the default browser-on PR per browser tab.
-if you have more then 10 PRs, print 'Too many PRs,try to filter by repo' message and exit
-the tool must not use any additional dependencies. Use only built-in libraries of the
language of your choice.

@Marmiz
any suggestions?

@IsaakNazar well, have you done the FCC front end projects?
It's just the Wikipedia viewer but with bitbucket API under the hood :)
just head over their docs and start reading documentation on how to query

Hi, I want to convert JS arguments obj into an array, and the web instruction points to :

 ```
var args = [].slice.call(arguments)
```
Can someone please explain me why "Call" is being use here?

  • slice receive index(or 2) as parameter
  • and call preserves the this parameter of the one who calls a function.
    so what is the connection between the 2?
Aditya
@ezioda004
May 22 2018 17:21
@1LifeLess call() executes the function/method with the this pointing to the parameter passed. Since arguments is not an array it doesnt have slice method, so you're borrowing it from Array object and making it work for arguments object.
Kyle Holm
@thekholm80
May 22 2018 17:22
@1LifeLess in this case i think arguments is not an array so it won't have the built in method slice
or what @ezioda004 said lol

the first time i got an eslint error for no direct access prototype methods or some crap like that i had to learn all about call()
but that's a different situation
Aditya
@ezioda004
May 22 2018 17:33
Yeah, call() and bind() useful stuff though I've never used apply()
Kyle Holm
@thekholm80
May 22 2018 17:37
@ezioda004 it seems pretty handy, but i've never had a use for it
or maybe i have but i went a different way without realizing apply() was an option
i tend to use the things i know rather than look for new, better ways
Aditya
@ezioda004
May 22 2018 17:41

The apply() method is identical to call(), except apply() requires an array as the second parameter. The array represents the arguments for the target method."

So you can just use spread operator in .call

theFunction.apply(valueForThis, arrayOfArgs)
theFunction.call(valueForThis, [...arrayOfArgs])

dont need the [] on call (unless u want to pass an array as value) and not its values/elements )

Another "trick" you can keep in mind is using Tab on your keyboard. If you simply type cd C:\Use and press Tab, it'll autocomplete the directory for you

In powershell the command is different. There you'll use PS C:\> Set-Location -Path "C:\Users\John's Yoga\Documents"

Hi everyone. Is anyone having issues with the freecodecamp website? Whenever I try to access the site, it fails to fetch the stylesheets. I refresh several times and it still doesn't work.
