Well that was a fun challenge :smile: "Replace the default browser actions of PageUp, PageDown, ArrowUp and ArrowDown to make them scroll to the next or previous anchor div. Replace Esc to disable the functionality and restore browser defaults"

Hi whats up yall
so i was doing the react challenges today and i have a question
so when i do const items = this.state.toDoList.map((item) => <li>{item}</li>);
items is also an "Array" of <li> items right?
Kyle Holm
@thekholm80
Jul 07 2018 16:19
yes
Tarun Garhwal
@eoo
Jul 07 2018 16:19
so then rendering it using <ul> {items} </ul>
should also render the array
Kyle Holm
@thekholm80
Jul 07 2018 16:19
yes
Tarun Garhwal
@eoo
Jul 07 2018 16:19
but it renders the list perfectly fine
Kyle Holm
@thekholm80
Jul 07 2018 16:20
do you mean you think it should render <ul>['<li>some piece of state</li>', '<li>another bit of state</li>']</ul>
Tarun Garhwal
@eoo
Jul 07 2018 16:20
yeah

react should also save us the trouble of using Array.map() then
an array should just render as list items when placed in JSX <ul>
duh
Kyle Holm
@thekholm80
Jul 07 2018 16:23
if your state contained the jsx tags <li></li> then you could skip the map()
Tarun Garhwal
@eoo
Jul 07 2018 16:23
nnono it didint, thats why i did the map
Kyle Holm
@thekholm80
Jul 07 2018 16:23
i think it would cause problems if it tried to pick your tags for you
Tarun Garhwal
@eoo
Jul 07 2018 16:24
why else would someone put an array in <ul> in react JSX
anyways this is pointless, thanks a lot

For the projects, I don’t prefer using codepen. Any suggestions on other testing environments if I want to build locally and host my projects on github? Kinda new to the testing aspect...
Kyle Holm
@thekholm80
Jul 07 2018 16:31
you can include the testing cdn in your html, it should work with any hosting or local

You can build your project by forking this CodePen pen. Or you can use this CDN link to run the tests in any environment you like: https://gitcdn.link/repo/freeCodeCamp/testable-projects-fcc/master/build/bundle.js

Hello all. Read this old article from css-tricks.com regarding using using display: none to hide elements. Their argument against using display: none is that it makes the content "inaccessible" by screen readers. My issue with this is why would you want the screen reader to read hidden content?
Mohammed Boudad
@matrixersp
Jul 07 2018 22:24
@hensn5250 If you want the hidden content to be read by screen readers then do not use display: none otherwise it's okay to use it
