@ezioda004 if i learn it is it ok to use both normal state and the global state of redux? do you know enough to know the answer to that question xD
or is it all just using state which is handled by redux
say in a project i wanted some things to be more easily handled by a global state which redux is good at, but then certain components it's own standard react state is fine. Can i do both?
Aditya
@ezioda004
Oct 27 2018 05:00
@darkphotonKN Its fine for components to have a local state. You should ask yourself "Does any other component need this state?" If the answer is "No" then use local state instead of adding it to Redux state.

former is right
you are requiesting

In 2nd para there is a line

Behind the scenes this method will set the appropriate headers to instruct your browser on how to handle the file you want to send, according to its type. Then it will read and send the file.

Who will read the file and send
the server or browser
Anand Potukuchi
@anandpotukchi
Oct 27 2018 11:11
got it
it's confusing
@Nirajn2311 browser will add headers and send
Niraj Nandish
@Nirajn2311
Oct 27 2018 11:13
But wont the file be in the server and the server is the one that is supposed to send it
Anand Potukuchi
@anandpotukchi
Oct 27 2018 11:13
en it will read and send the file. This method needs an absolute file path.
@Nirajn2311 no, the browser is sending

Aditya
@ezioda004
Oct 27 2018 16:52
Aha yeah, for some project euler challenges, tests need more time cause the inputs are quite big, they are impossible to solve under 100ms
Even the solution provided by the author in challenge seed doesnt pass all test 🤦

@Nirajn2311 the server, .get is an express middleware and the sendFile method will take care of updating the headers. You can usually distinguish if it is a server or client action based on if it's res or req. req means it's coming from the client, res means the server is doing something with the response to the client
that's a crude explanation sorry
@Nirajn2311 another example of "automatic" formatting of headers would be the res.json method, which is a really quick way to update the content-type header for application/json with no work on your part, to send a json response to the client
Aditya
@ezioda004
Oct 27 2018 17:14
I think a better explanation would be that when using the core http(s) module in Node, you have to set the raw headers yourself even when you send response. Example: response.writeHead(200, {"Content-Type": "text/html"}); but with express this is abstracted away and you can skip this step.
Christopher McCormack
@cmccormack
Oct 27 2018 17:14
in the past you may have had to do something like res.header['Content-Type'] = "application/json"; res.status(200); res.send({prop: value, ...})
Aditya
