can anyone help with this trick question??

A. All properties are automatically public and can be accessed through "." operation

B. All properties are automatically private but may be accessed by using ‘prototype’

C. Variables declared inside constructor functions are private and cannot be directly accessed as properties

D. Variables declared inside constructor functions are globally scoped

E. Properties that contain boolean values may not be accessed with bracket notation and are only accessible through “.” operation

Which of the following is true about JavaScript object properties?

@ezioda004 I thought so too but then again more than just one are correct
A & D
B, C, D & E
D & E
D, C & E
A & C (these are my options)
Aditya
@ezioda004
Nov 25 2018 09:33
@croozayy_twitter B, D and E are incorrect. Technically A isnt correct either:
const obj = {
  "prop-name": "cant access with . operator"
}
obj.prop-name // will be interpreted as obj.prop - name
obj."prop-name" //error
But aside from this case, A & C should be correct.

@ezioda004 things like this always made me loose points at university exams... I never knew if they were going for the "mostly" case or the "always" case. I always put there the version including edge cases and lost points attimes

Appriciate it much @ezioda004 that was worth a few points! i think js doesn't allow for a dash between variable names. so i dont think it would work for property names either.

Hi,
does anybody know why this pen does not work in the Debug mode?

https://codepen.io/radekjohn/pen/BGVNQO

I suppose it's something pretty basic but I just do not see what. In the console it says "expected expression, got '<'" on row 47, which is the div inside the return.

@radekjohn I believe you forgot to save it? I see a working version with only 15 lines of code

@ezioda004 ready?
Radek
@radekjohn
Nov 25 2018 12:33
@alpox yes, It is just 15 lines. You see it even in the debugg mode? Mine is working in editor view but not in debugg

@diomed
Nov 25 2018 12:34
@radekjohn is that your pen?
if it isn't you have to fork it to be able to see it in debug mode
Radek

Nov 25 2018 12:35
@diomed Yes, it is mine.

Nov 25 2018 12:39
I mean in HTML window
just ask @ezioda004 he's js wizard. he knows what's up
you have some syntax error
SyntaxError: expected expression, got '<'[Learn More]
Radek
@radekjohn
Nov 25 2018 12:40
@diomed well, I can do it but I am trying to learn react. I know how to do it in normal way.

@diomed Thats because you put z-index on floating-header and post-full
@radekjohn You can fix it by setting on #app:
#app {
  position: relative;
  z-index: 0
}

Nov 25 2018 14:07
@alpox Aha, true - probably the only place where knowing the edge case doesnt benefit :D
@croozayy_twitter Yes, true. JS valid identifier cannot contain any special character except _ and $, however property names are strings, so you can use any thing as a prop name as long as its a valid string. Even emojis!
