@cmccormack hello man, are you there? https://codepen.io/kinopotato/pen/wNEpNB here's the codepen link. it's a bit long. the page is getting big and my code is spaghetti
but the gist of it is that I have a container div with display none and a child div. the child div contains HTML syntax that is being used in JS and being reproduced inside a table cell.
I think the problem is that I am appending another div inside the hidden container div, but even then why should that matter and show as undefined when all other parts of the hidden container div doesn't show.

Undefined is a sibling of the hidden div, you're probably trying to add an element you didn't create yet to the parent element

yes I'm appending a div I created using createElement. I'm assuming that's where the problem was, but with the way my code is structured, I need to append the said element :| is there a work around this?

don't append non-elements?
If it's appending undefined you should track down where you're allowing an undefined element to be appended

hmm, but that's the thing, you can see the calendar dates appearing in the table, if it's showing an error in the original div, why isn't it showing any on the reproduced divs?

Good you're on your way to solving it

but there's a solution where I don't need to trash my code? pathetic as it sounds, I've been working on this spaghetti for 2 weeks :|

@kinopotato if you check you html, you missed one tag and write wrong closing tag.
on line 73 should be </table> and add another </table> below it.

@kinopotato
Feb 16 02:26
lol, it solved one mystery, why it was joining the left table. now the undefined is where it should be, at the bottom xD
right table, I mean

@padunk
Feb 16 02:27
yup, idk what's that undefined came from.

Feb 16 02:28
I'm going to try, I think it's because I'm using createTextNode. I tried textContent but didn't work, I'll have to play with it
thanks tho! I had no idea the table wasn't close. haha

maybe dayPay.value, but idk, just check it
kinopotato
@kinopotato
Feb 16 02:29
the error is from the new div I'm appending, (I think) the newDailyDiv
I think that's where it's from. I really need that functionality though
so I can't get rid of it. haha,

i commented document.write(dayPay.value) at the end of your code and undefined is gone.

wot, I didn't even know that existed xD I thought you were referring to the one up top
abraham anak agung
@padunk
Feb 16 02:32
nah, one up top is just a variable

Feb 16 02:32
nah, I've been writing this prototype in codepen xD
I probably should just get circumcised twice to make sure I don't make babies. the mistakes I keep making, no kid deserves such airheaded genes xD
thanks man, I would've butchered my code further since I absolutely had no idea that thing existed

@kinopotato np, one tip in codepen is that you can tidyJS, HTML and CSS so you code looks good.
kinopotato
@kinopotato
Feb 16 02:36
is that a framework?
abraham anak agung
@padunk
Feb 16 02:37
nope, just select tidy in dropdown menu beside HTML, CSS or JS tab

hey everybody! clicking on volume icon should mute volume, but it doesnt . Help plz
Kev Comedia
@kevcomedia
Feb 16 12:24
@IsaakNazar the volume click handler doesn't change the track volume itself. It just changes the volume icon and the value of the volume slider.

@kevcomedia thx/ I do understand that. your suggestions?
Kev Comedia
@kevcomedia
Feb 16 13:30
I think that's that for the most part: set the track volume when clicking the volume icon. If I could change something else, I'd use an if-else instead of a ternary operator in the volume click handler
Nazar
@IsaakNazar
Feb 16 14:28
@kevcomedia I've changed ternary to plain if-else statement, nothing happened, same results.
