@SaintPeter
Why not? 7 -> LXX
and 5 -> V
75 -> LXXV no?
Rex Schrader
@SaintPeter
@navyvel Or 500 - consider this:
  • 74 is not greater than 1000, 500, 100, but it is greater than 50, so "L"
  • 74 - 50 = 24
  • 24 is greater than 10, and I can fit 2, so "LXX"
  • 24 - 20 = 4
  • 4 = 4 (IV), so "LXXIV"
  • 4-4 = 0 so we're done
@navyvel Well, then you get into the situation that you have to spell out every possible roman value for each digit. Seems like a drag. Your code will be huge.
Kouty
@koouty
@SaintPeter Right You're right. I agree with you.
But in my enormous code Is an error, why the split method don't replace the digits in Upper case letters? Can your explain this?
Rex Schrader
@SaintPeter
@navyvel The problem may be that it's a string, not a number
pantelis
@pantelisB
Hello!!!
KofiAkorli
@KofiAkorli
@pantelisB hiii
Rex Schrader
@SaintPeter
@navyvel You can use parseInt to turnit into a number
Kouty
@koouty
@SaintPeter Sorry if I'm a bore... but for me the number will be turned into a string, through the toString method, and next sliced in an Array, and next the Array were spliced with suppressed digit-characters and replaced Up case letters.
Rex Schrader
@SaintPeter
@navyvel Right, so each digit needs to be converted to a number with parseInt
@navyvel Or you need to compare it to a string
@navyvel IE: digit === '1' or digit === '2'
Kouty
@koouty
@SaintPeter Yees
I understand, you're good, the === was out of my mind
Thank's so much and congratulation for the patience!

Hello help room. Can I get some feedback on the portfolio web page zipline? I'm feeling a bit lost on what to do next. http://codepen.io/Philosophist/pen/xwZGar
Like, how do I get the horizontal break lines to be clear and how do I push the content to not bury itself behind the nav bar?

margins/padding I guess

Oh, cool. I think I just figured out opacity for the hr. How do I get it to be longer like the one I'm reverse engineering? http://codepen.io/ThiagoFerreir4/full/eNMxEp

I have a jQuery question. I am currently doing a static todo app, and for dynamically generated checkboxes, the .change() event does not work, as opposed to a pre-existing checkbox (one that was part of the original DOM) where it would work. Why is that?

What I am trying to do is, if the user changes/clicks on the checkbox, a class would be toggled on its sibling <label>. It doesn’t work for injected checkboxes. How can I go about fixing this?

Hello guys, a little help here: "Waypoint: Use CSS Selectors to Style Elements" does not automatically go to the next Waypoint, even though I have the right solution. On the challenge map this is the only waypoint missing... any ideas what's happening?
This is HTML Waypoint 9.

Why can I never get the last part of this function to run, even when the paramaters are met?
function yourTurn() {
  var currentPosition = 0;
  var pressTracker = 0;
  $('.gameButton').mousedown(function() {
    yourNum = parseInt(this.id)
    lightPressed(yourNum);
    yourSeq[currentPosition] = yourNum;
  })
  $('.gameButton').mouseup(function() {
    checkLight(currentPosition);
    currentPosition++;
    console.log(currentPosition, yourSeq.length);
  })
  if (currentPosition == 1) {
    console.log("done");
    return;
  }
}
