@DarkShatan
riight
but im trying to figure out how to put it in the div element
well class in the div element
Norvin Burrus
@ndburrus
@DarkShatan ok, so we create the class within the style element, which means between:
<style>
      **here**
</style>
  • the way to style an element can be found in the lesson Use a CSS Class to Style an Element, here:
    <h2 class="blue-text">CatPhotoApp</h2>
DarkShatan
@DarkShatan
yes sir sorry
Oliver Varney
@OliverWoliver
Hi im just starting off and was wondering where i can learn the very basics
DarkShatan
@DarkShatan

<style>

.silver-background {
background-color: silver;
}

now its telling me to give my div element the class silver-background.
Norvin Burrus
@ndburrus
@DarkShatan it sure is.... see :point_up: here :sparkles:
DarkShatan
@DarkShatan

Norvin Burrus
@ndburrus

DarkShatan
@DarkShatan

Norvin Burrus
@ndburrus
@DarkShatan well, what kind of element are we working with?
hint: it starts with the letter d.
DarkShatan
@DarkShatan
is there a place i could see all the definitions of just say h2 and p ..ect
div
div element
Norvin Burrus
@ndburrus
@DarkShatan :+1:
  • the classes/definitions can be seen in the style element.
    so, in this lesson we have the following classes defined: .red-text, .thick-green-border, .smaller-image, and .silver-backgtound. see that?
DarkShatan
@DarkShatan
oh sorry umm. i mean like what they mean like abriviationsif that makes sence
sense
sorry my english
like what does h2 mean like header or something like that
Right
well how can i explain, just like cars we say "pvc" as the abrivation and it means positive crank ventilation.. so for h2 is there another word for it.
Norvin Burrus
@ndburrus

@ideposoy
@DarkShatan did you figure out the div problem yet?
Benjamin Roy
@benjaminroy
  app.get('/new/*', function(req, res) {
    console.log('A new URL has been passed as a parameter.');
    m_original_url = req.params[0];
    // -- Add the new original URL and shortened URL to the collection --:
    mycollection.findOne({ "original_url": m_original_url}, function(err, result) {
      if (err) throw err;
      if (result) {
        console.log('The new URL is not in the database');
      }
      else {
        console.log('The new URL is already in the database');
      }
    });
Hey guys, when I run my code, the console.log in the if statement and the console.log in the else statement never show up.. I don't know what's wrong with this if statement? Otherwise, how can I check if a document exists in a collection in mongodb?
