I haven't felt this stupid in a while lol!

@Dorcy-ndg3
@sjp245 show me your code
Scott
@sjp245
How do I...how do I do that? Copy+paste?
levilong
@levilong
how do I make my img smaller? I know the code I just don't know where to put it so it effects the img
D O R C ¥
@Dorcy-ndg3
@sjp245 yup
@levilong have u given img a class yet?
Scott
@sjp245

Okay. This is what gives me one out of two checks green:

<link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Lobster" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">

<style>
img "smaller-image" {width: 100px;}
.red-text {
color: red;
}

h2 {
font-family: Lobster, Monospace;
}

p {
font-size: 16px;
font-family: Monospace;
}
</style>

<h2 class="red-text">CatPhotoApp</h2>

<img class="smaller-image" src="https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back. ">

<p class="red-text">Kitty ipsum dolor sit amet, shed everywhere shed everywhere stretching attack your ankles chase the red dot, hairball run catnip eat the grass sniff.</p>
<p class="red-text">Purr jump eat the grass rip the couch scratched sunbathe, shed everywhere rip the couch sleep in the sink fluffy fur catnip scratched.</p>

levilong
@levilong
no, how do I do that?
D O R C ¥
@Dorcy-ndg3
@sjp245 this is the problem img "smaller-image" {width: 100px;}
its supposed to be smaller-image{width: 100px;} but since smaller-image is a class.. u add a dot before typing it so the end result looks like this .smaller-image{width: 100px;}
@levilong what do the instructions say?
levilong
@levilong
Create a class called smaller-image and use it to resize the image so that it's only 100 pixels wide.
to create a class do you use <style>? I forgot, sorry
D O R C ¥
@Dorcy-ndg3
Basically we give elements a class then inside style we can make changes to any element with such a class
@levilong nop
levilong
@levilong
oh ok, you create classes inside the style don't you?
D O R C ¥
@Dorcy-ndg3
<img class="....." >
@levilong you only style inside style :laughing:
levilong
@levilong
haha oh geeze, let me try and ill show you what I put
Scott
@sjp245
@Dorcy-ndg3 Ah okay! When I removed img from before .smaller-class, that worked. I have to review "class." Thanks for your help!

levilong
@levilong

<style>
.smaller-image {
width: 100px;
}
.red-text {
color: red;
}

h2 {
font-family: Lobster, Monospace;
}

p {
font-size: 16px;
font-family: Monospace;
}
</style>

<h2 class="red-text">CatPhotoApp</h2>

<img src="https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back. ">

it doesn't work like that
D O R C ¥
@Dorcy-ndg3
@levilong if i wanted to make p blue i would do this
<style>
.sweet{
color:blue;
}
</style>
<p class="sweet">This must be a sweet paragraph</p>
Devin
@slackonslackoff
Hi, my h2 element won't turn red and I've pretty much followed all the instructions that I can see. What am I missing? IKt specifically says not use an inline stye declaration
D O R C ¥
@Dorcy-ndg3
@levilong because back in ur html the element img is missing the class smaller-image
@slackonslackoff :point_up: February 3, 2017 3:47 AM
thats an example
@slackonslackoff u can target elements without classes like this
<style>
p{
color:red;
}
h1{
color:white;
}
</style>
@slackonslackoff lets see ur code anyway
levilong
@levilong
do I add this?
<img class="smaller-image">"https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back."</img>
<img src ="https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back. ">
</img> does not work lol
D O R C ¥
@Dorcy-ndg3
@levilong img is self closing
ur making a small issue very big
simply give ur img a class thats it
purplequestion
@purplequestion
Hi. If anyone can help, I'd appreciate it. I'm stuck. :D <script>
$(".well"); <--this is not right but I don't know what goes here.
$(document).ready(function() {
$(".text-primary").addClass("animated shake");
});
D O R C ¥
@Dorcy-ndg3
<img class="your-class-can-go-here" src ="https://bit.ly/fcc-relaxing-cat" alt="A cute orange cat lying on its back. "> @levilong
@purplequestion why is some code out of ur function.. it has to be in
purplequestion
@purplequestion
I don't know. I'm confused.
D O R C ¥
@Dorcy-ndg3
@purplequestion what are the instructions
Claudio Restifo
@Marmiz
@purplequestion start by nesting every function inside the document.ready() one
Then follow the logic of jquery to your needs:
$('target').action('element')
levilong
@levilong
I got it @Dorcy-ndg3 , thank you for your help. I did not realize it was that simple! i guess I didn't know you just had to put "class="smaller-image"" in the <img line
