@usharya your css should read as form input {... that should change the background color to white. Is that what you mean?
   form input {

Jackson Bates
@JacksonBates
Apr 16 2016 06:25
@ScriptGeek you can limit your json calls while developing in codepen by turning off auto-updates in your settings. That way it doesn't call the api every time you type a word, only when you press 'run'

@ChadKreutzer hmm, that doesn’t seem to work. it takes 0.5000000001 and returns 1 instead of 0.5
Chad Kreutzer
@ChadKreutzer
Apr 16 2016 06:49
odd. I just tested it in the console and it returned 0.5.
@smrtsmrf I just noticed, above you said that you didn't want it to always round to two places though. what sort of behavior are you wanting?
Candice
@smrtsmrf
Apr 16 2016 06:52
@ChadKreutzer I want it to have it function like a normal calculator. if the result should be 0.5, then I want only 1 decimal. but if the result should be 3.1415926…. I want that many decimal places
Chad Kreutzer
@ChadKreutzer
Apr 16 2016 06:52
gotcha.
but the float makes it go all wonky with the little Office Space rounding issues.
Samuel Cupidon
@Zerazera
Apr 16 2016 06:53
@Candice You could use toFixed and convert the to a number
Chad Kreutzer
@ChadKreutzer
Apr 16 2016 06:55
@Zerazera nope. that doesn't solve her problem. although--- you could do a regex search for some set number of zeros then truncate it before them and then convert back to a number.
@smrtsmrf it wouldn't be perfect, but it would be good enough.

@ChadKreutzer hmm, that definitely fixed the 0.50000000001 issue, but it makes pi and 1/6 (for example) inaccurate :(
Chad Kreutzer
@ChadKreutzer
Apr 16 2016 07:14
@smrtsmrf I'm coming back to converting the number to a string, finding some preset number of zeros in a row, then slicing it just before that and eval() ing it back to a number. It's kinda a cheat and I'm sure there are some edge cases that it won't catch, but I'm not thinking of anything better yet. (not that I've given up)

@gelmans91 you aren't quite getting how the bootstrap columns work. the number in the col-md-X is the proportion out of 12 parts that the column wants to take up. so in order to make 3 equal buttons you might do this:
<div =class="row">
     <div class="col-md-4">
          <button class="btn">Facebook</button>
     </div>
     <div class="col-md-4">

     </div>
     <div class="col-md-4">
          <button class="btn">FreeCodeCamp</button>
     </div>
</div>

Write a function nextInLine which takes an array (arr) and a number (item) as arguments.which is below
function nextInLine(arr, item) {
  now you need to do 2 things
1.Add the number to the end of the array ===>push method
2.then remove the first element of array. The nextInLine function should then return the element that was removed===>shift method
}

I have made the 'board' using canvas but realise I will now have to determine where the mouse is clicked relative to the canvas (and the page) in order to draw X or O. For this type of application and to make it scale for smaller screens, is it best to use canvas or to draw 9 separate squares for each section of the board? Thanks.

@jeremyroe don’t know any React yet :(
but put it up lol
It might be because I don’t have any rows in place for bootstrap . . . but I would think I should be able to use some CSS to center my content of my “app” div which is set to container-fluid

Good day all, I am trying to complete the simon challenge. Im trying to write a function with Jquery's click function and have it execute another function once a certain number of clicks are met...Is that even possible? Heres the code.

function user_input(){
$("#green, #red, #yellow, #blue").on("click", function(){

var color = this.id;

if (color == "green"){
human_moves.push(0);
}
else if (color == "red"){
human_moves.push(1);
}
else if (color == "yellow"){
human_moves.push(2)
}
else if (color == "blue"){
human_moves.push(3)
}

console.log(human_moves.length);
if (comp_moves.length != human_moves.length){user_input();}

else{ check_moves(comp_moves, human_moves)};

});
}

Learn how to plan your future project!

Blog post written by BiancaMihai - GitHub / Twitter

An ounce of preparation is worth a pound of cure. That's true in medicine, and that's definitely true in software development.

Here's a structured 10-step workflow that will guide you through the app planning process, with the goal of saving you from writing a lot of unnecessary code.

Together, we'll plan out a simple "To-do" single-page web app. We'll also plan for an API backend for a future mobile app.

@ElvisTheStriker this problem is known as CORS. You can come around it with using jsonp requests ( if the foreign host supports it, but most do ). You can put callback=? In the query steing of the url or request with the $.ajax method and set dataType to "jsonp"
Both ways work

@max0180 Take out the div with the links first and then try:

#content-pan {
  margin: 0 10%;
  background-color: rgb(255,255,255);
  display: block;
  height: 80px;
}

#content-pan > * {
  display: inline-block;
  height: 80px;
  line-height: 80px;
}

#corporate-logo a {
  display: inline-block;
}

#content-pan > * > *,
#corporate-logo img {
  vertical-align: middle;
  line-height: 20px;
}

#corporate-logo {
  width: 20%;
  margin-left: 25px;
}

#search-google {
  margin-right: 25px;
}

This will align the logo and the search bar. The links don't fit in there though
