Use media queries

Shit
css @media screen and (max-width: 767px) { //enter CSS to only be fired if ^ is true }
gitter mobile sucks
Take that random "css" bit out lol, it wont let me edit

@ajess33 - is there something specific that you are having difficulty with? It would help to know either how to help or direct you in a specific way.

Dec 19 2017 02:40
@ajess33 - well, one thing to do is to study the methods that they list as useful ones for solving the problem, sometimes reading the docs a few times shows good examples. But if you are struggling with general concepts, then there are many alternate sources of javascript lessons that you could try. Put some specific questions in here and you'll get some good suggestions.

@krckyboy I would guess that it mostly affects large companies that operate via Internet. They have to pay (a larger) part of their income to the Internet service providers in order to keep their apps fast.

Hey there! I recently finished the Twitch project but I've been told some Chrome browsers experience problems with the CSS. At first I thought it could be because the grid layout was implemented recently this year with version 57, but then I read Chrome updates automatically so I think that's not really the case. I don't have a clue of what else could be happening. Could anyone take a look and/or tell me if it works for you? https://codepen.io/darioglez/pen/QOeyeE

@arobida - I am not exactly sure what kind of help you were looking for, but I put this code in:

$("#qBox").html(question.q0);
    let qNo = 1;
    $("#next").click(function() {
        $("#qBox").replaceWith("<div id='qBox'>" + question[`q${qNo}`] + "</div>");
        qNo++; //have to watch for the end
        if (!question.hasOwnProperty(`q${qNo}`)) {
            qNo = 0; // reset the question number
        }
    });

And it will loop through the questions and then come back to the start. (Keep in mind that it is 5am for me, so I'm sure this could be done a little more efficiently... :) ) What I have will just cycle through the questions and put each one on the screen, when it reaches the last (as long as your "q" numbers are sequential) it just resets the count to 0.

@darioglez - I'm not sure what you're looking for as far as comments. The grid appears to be working, at least I see a display that looks clean in Opera and Chrome. I don't see any contents in the frame, though, there are no channels being displayed? I'm not sure if I'm missing something that I'm supposed to do when I load the page?
Darío Glez
@darioglez
Dec 19 2017 10:14
There are no initial contents, I avoided including any for neatness purposes, but the API definitely works. The thing is, a user pointed this out: https://twitter.com/steven7mwesigwa/status/942855277078032384 And I have no idea what may be going on there
@khaduch forgot to include your username!

Dec 19 2017 10:16
@darioglez - well, I'm seeing a nice-looking display in both Opera and Chrome (I'm up-to-date on Chrome, for sure?) Maybe that user could tell you the version he is running? I'm running Version 63.0.3239.108 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Windows 10 - perhaps there is some other variable in the equation that makes it not work for him? Perhaps you should find out what he is running - windows or mac, Chrome version number, etc. I know that Chrome updates, often, but I almost always have to push a button to make it reload, especially if I keep a window open for a long time, which i tend to do...

@darioglez you need some validation in here: if(key.which == 13) {.....} coz if your searchValue is empty your ajax call will respond with an 400 error. You should also trigger the keypress event not on $(document).keypress but on the search input field

@JenniferEstelle Ask your questions directly, nobody will reply if you ask for proficiency.
@BuBBRBbr1 are you concerned about the white space in the bottom?
Ruben Abraham
@BuBBRBbr1

Yes. That is what I am reffering to
I tried to insert a background, but it won't load. Font awesome is also not working either.

@JenniferEstelle - there has been low participation in the chat rooms, in general, so you might also have a delay before getting a response. But as @amirsaleem96 said - it is better to post a question about code, and post some code, or post the URL with a question. Sometimes we can just take a look and help, or perhaps someone familiar with Angular will eventually come and see it.

It is supposed to be a guy holding a lightbulb. Are you saying I should only use Google Images?
Amir Saleem
@amirsaleem96
Dec 19 2017 17:31
@BuBBRBbr1
you can use a combination of class and id like this.
https://codepen.io/amirsaleem/pen/opxERL?editors=0100
@BuBBRBbr1 no, its not about a google image, but when you open the link in the browser you see the website and not the image. But to set the background direct URL of the image is required. URL ending with .jpg or .png will work

isnt the offest paddings on the side?
i dont need it tho xD so if it's the padding it's fine :)
Amir Saleem
@amirsaleem96
Dec 19 2017 17:51
@amirsaleem96 coz offset is not required in full width. offset moves the column away which is not required
Tor Magne
@tormage
Dec 19 2017 17:51
so if i had a container and not a container-fluid then i can use offset?
ah if i dont have col-md-12 got it
@amirsaleem96 thanks for the helpe :D

Dec 19 2017 17:53
@tormage
it depends upon the nature of your grid, say you want to create five equal width columns, then use col-md-2 with col-md-offset-1 in first column
rest of the columns will be col-md-2
Tor Magne
@tormage
Dec 19 2017 17:54
@amirsaleem96 because then you offset the first colum with 1? xD sorry if i ask dumb, but im learning as i go and it's alot of fun :D
Amir Saleem
@amirsaleem96
Dec 19 2017 17:55
@tormage
yes because you are centering the whole view. Doing col-md-offset-2 will move 2 columns away and wont give you perfect centering

@amirsaleem96 okei. nice now i get i think :) Thank you for the help!

@amirsaleem96 doing col-md-offset-1 is like taking half of the width from left and half from right to center the view
@tormage
you are welcome

// output array
let out = [];

// for each array
for (let i = 0; i < arr.length; i++) {

// find largest element and append to output array
let largest = 0;
for (let j = 0; j < arr[i].length; i++) {
  if (arr[i][j] > largest) {

out.append(largest);

}

I think the problem is that instead of out.append, it should be out.push(largest) or out.unshift(largest) depending on how you plan to order your elements.

@MechaEdgar I think it would look nicer with the input centered - and I don't see you using LESS like your portfolio text says
Looking at your HTML, you are using Bootstrap 3 classes instead of Bootstrap 4
