@dbsimeonov was it made with vue-cli? or so how's the project structure.

Hello all,
Has anyone here ever built a comparison table similar to this?
https://www.homedesignersoftware.com/products/product-chooser.html
I've been asked to make this page more responsive and have a sticky header.

@kcclemo I'm guessing we've all made something in a similar fashion if not exactly that type of project - is there anything specific you're having issues implementing?

Hey, got a quick question for ya. I’m using bootstrap button. And I used btn btn-link btn-xs classes. I noticed when I click on the button, there is still a big border space around button text area. Was wondering if there was some simple css I could use to reduce the space or border sized area?

do you mean the padding around the text within the borders of the button? @zdman135

padding is the white space?

Quickest way to check is right click the element in your browser and insepct element, you can see all the CSS applied to the button and adjust to see what changes
yes padding is the spacing within an element

borders, margin, and padding are very good to know about when dealing with elements
possibly

yeah, it's tough to fix something when you know what you want to fix, but not the name

it all depends on how it's implemented by bootstrap, but I would suspect it's padding
@zdman135 I'd highly recommend going through the FCC CSS curriculum to brush up on all the terms.

Hey guys ! what is the difference between using max width and min width in media query
Tom
@moT01
Aug 27 2018 19:50
@Lia-Sue-Kim max would be the specified width and lower - min would be the width and higher
pretty sure anyway

Hello guys
Can someone help ne out ?
If i have got 2 pictures and i want them to take up 6 colums each and centered on the page, how to do so?
AJ Brommy
@AJ-Brommy

Well one way would to be to create 2 columns, and split each into three. then apply the background to the 2 column containers.

for (var i = 0; i < arr.lenght; i++) {
    for (var j = 0; j < arr[i].lenght; j++) {
      product *= arr[i][j];
    }
  }
Can't notice what's wrong with my function which should return the product of all sub-arrays? :l

@cmccormack Yes, primarily, I'm having trouble getting the header to be sticky, and also be the same width as teh comparison table. When the header goes to position: fixed, it takes up the full width of the viewport. This isn't ideal as the alignment from the include columns to the product image is off.
Christopher McCormack
@cmccormack
Aug 27 2018 21:55
@kcclemo You can set the left, right, top and bottom of a fixed element so it doesn't necessarily take up the full space
you can also try position: sticky but it's not fully supported in all browsers

anyone else using react and having trouble with the 'legacy' lifecycle methods not working? Im trying to use UNSAFE_componentDidMount() and it wont work. yet componentDidMount() works fine. Here are my versions:
  "dependencies": {
    "body-parser": "^1.18.3",
    "cors": "^2.8.4",
    "dotenv": "^6.0.0",
    "ejs": "^2.6.1",
    "express": "^4.16.3",
    "mongodb": "^3.1.0",
    "mongoose": "^5.2.6",
    "node-sass-middleware": "^0.11.0",
    "react": "^16.4.1",
    "react-dom": "^16.4.1"
  },

@willybeans you may want to reread this https://reactjs.org/docs/react-component.html
componentDidMount should still be safe
