well when the timer is not greater than zero you need to swap to the “other” timer value. To keep track of which you should be counting down, I used a “flag” called timerType.
for example.
if (timerType == 'session') { …. and in that if I set things up for the break time, cleared the clock face, sounded the alarm and changed the flag to be timerType = “break”. So obviously if the timerType was “break” i’d do a similar thing but for the session values. there is no need to actually stop the timer … just change the values. You only really need to stop it for “stop” or “reset” or maybe “pause"

looking for help with the keydown event handler on my app... the green square is not supposed to move in a direction past a walll but it does somehow position itself past the wall (but only in the logic not the div) http://codepen.io/gr4vy/pen/ZQqmBx

@mutantspore

@gr4vy You’ll most likely get help for that project in the Data Visualization help room

can someone help me out with my jquery...i am not sure if my animated bounce is working in this case
Bruce Young
@mutantspore
@max77p ? “by Shan” bounces when the page loads
@max77p you will also probably have to add in bootstrap.js in the JS cog at some stage.
max77p
@max77p
@mutantspore i actually figured it out, it was because i didnt have the animate.css script added
Bruce Young
@mutantspore
ok then … you’ll still need bootstrap.js though

@avanbox ok I might hav ethat wrong .. similar name to something else
what is it for?
ok i see now
Andrew Vanboxel
@avanbox
an ide
i hate codepen so i wanted to do my work somewhere else
but i cant get it to recognize my .js file
Bruce Young
@mutantspore
yes , it’s annoying. I just use atom.io locally and put it up to codePen when i’m finished. I sometimes also run a local web server to test things on mobile more easily
Andrew Vanboxel
@avanbox
if i put <script src="calc.js"></script> in <head> I get a file not resolved error. ill look into that atom .io
Bruce Young
@mutantspore
@avanbox yes that’s because it’s a local file. You’d have to cut and paste it into codepen’s JS area
Atom and SublimeText are quite popular
Andrew Schmidthuber
@calicode
i like atom because its what $90 cheaper, lot of people like sublime tho
Andrew Vanboxel
@avanbox
no its new files i created in the ide. i linked my css is the html and it worked but it just wont see the .js i made in the same project in the same ide
Andrew Schmidthuber
@calicode
i bounce between atom and cloud9, codepen when i just want to mess around
Andrew Vanboxel
@avanbox
ill check them out. thanks. @calicode @mutantspore

does the ide require scripts to be in a diff directory maybe?

@calicode
anything usefull in dev console?
Bruce Young
@mutantspore
@avanbox dragging scripts in should really be done at the bottom of your html just before the body close tag. That way the css and the html are loaded … the js then has something to act on.
Andrew Vanboxel
@avanbox
ok. im going to poke at this for a few more minutes and if i cant figure it out ill try one of those editors

https://jsfiddle.net/himynameissal/0z1mpm7s/ Any ideas why my buttons aren't being displayed correctly? The left and top is allocated correctly.
Bruce Young
@mutantspore
@avanbox If I want to use an IDE locally I use CodeRunner. It’s a Mac App (costs $15).
