Neeraj Lad
@neeraj-lad
The New Quote button is highlighted in Gray. I want to remove that highlighting.
Bruce Young
@mutantspore
i’m straining my eyes ..wondering if I’ve finally gone blind
Neeraj Lad
@neeraj-lad
@mutantspore hahaha :D.. click the link, then click the picture.. to get a magnified view
Bruce Young
@mutantspore
you mean the actually words in teh button? change when you hover? from white to “black"
Neeraj Lad
@neeraj-lad
yes.. I'd rather they be white after clicking to
Bruce Young
@mutantspore
okay well now we know what you are referring to
Neeraj Lad
@neeraj-lad
yeah.. its supposed to be highlighing when a button is active, infocus, hover, etc.. I targeted css for those, but no change. Also now you know what I am referring too, do you see the same in your systems?
Bruce Young
@mutantspore
yes. .
Neeraj Lad
@neeraj-lad
I tried outline, border properties.. but couldn't change it
Neeraj Lad
@neeraj-lad
@mutantspore @kirbyedy @noczesc thanks for your help. Guess, I'll take a look at it later.

@macbem
@neeraj-lad try to use !important
Bruce Young
@mutantspore
@neeraj-lad lol I’m close.. fixed that but made something else show.. give me a sec
Maciej Bembenista
@macbem
bootstrap overrides your css properties and messes things up
Neeraj Lad
@neeraj-lad
@noczesc
like this?
.button {
outline: none !important;
}
Maciej Bembenista
@macbem
yup
Neeraj Lad
@neeraj-lad
@noczesc didn't work :(
Maciej Bembenista
@macbem
I'd be more than glad to help, but the issue doesn't happen on my computer
Neeraj Lad
@neeraj-lad
@noczesc no problem.. :)
Bruce Young
@mutantspore
@neeraj-lad using this fixes it but I’m probably doubling up on some of the bit you have there already
.btn:hover, .btn:focus, .btn:active, .btn.active {
    color: #fff;
}
Neeraj Lad
@neeraj-lad
@mutantspore that works! :D
do you also the gray color when you click for the very first time, after the app is loaded?

I'm trying to assign a JSON object that I got from an API to a variable to make my life easier, but it seems that no matter what I do it doesn't get assigned, I just can't figure out what I'm doing wrong, can anyone help?
 var postData;

$.getJSON("http://www.freecodecamp.com/news/hot", function(json) {

  postData = JSON.stringify(json);

});
console.log(postData);
Bruce Young
@mutantspore
@Abazhenov it wil get assigned. put the console.log(postData); inside the getjson and you’ll see it
it’s because it’s an asynchronous process
Alexei Bazhenov
@Abazhenov
@mutantspore does that mean that I need to write any code that uses the new value of the postData inside of that function as well?
Bruce Young
@mutantspore
yes.. you can make it nicer by writing the code outside in a function of it’s own but then calling that from within teh getjson.
Alexei Bazhenov
@Abazhenov
@mutantspore gotcha, thank you!

Richard
@stormgrass
@mutantspore Ah, I'm glad. Do get me a cot ready in that ward, because I'm about ready to move in.
