Hoping someone can help with my JavaSript for my calculator. The functions work for times/division/minus, but not for addition. I'm still working on the backspace/percent functions, but would like to figure out what's going on with the addition function... Any help would be greatly appreciated... my codepen is... http://codepen.io/RDaniels34/pen/MKXOKx

@AhsanAliKhan OK so the name attributes of your <input>s should both be indoor-outdoor and between you opening and closing <label>tags one button should have the text Indoor and the other Outdoor.
@AhsanAliKhan and see here on how to format code in posts instead of using an image.

@andrewchar
how would i make a footer responsive? if you notice when you collapse my footer icons go vertical.
http://codepen.io/andrewchar/pen/vLQeZa?editors=1100
Jonathan Coleman
@jondcoleman
@sigursiguros The pomodoro is actually centered correctly - the rest of the elements are not
@andrewchar you could put them in a bootstrap grid of col-md-2

Anyone have ideas for my JavaScript calculator problem listed above?

Trying to make a button execute a js function, doesn't seem to be working

<!DOCTYPE HTML>

<html>
<head>

</head>
<body>

<script type="text/javascript" src="js/rndquotes.js"></script>
<button onclick="randomQuote()">click</button>
</body>
</html>

JS FILE

var quotes = ["Apple","Banana", "Carrot"];

function randomQuote(0, 3) {
  var i = Math.floor(Math.random() * 3);
  document.write("test");
  return quotes[i];
}
document.write("test");

http://codepen.io/noczesc/pen/bEQMoM guys, my tweet gets cut when it has ' ; or any other special character
i tried using encodeURIComponent, didn't help
I tried pasting it to the link - it didn't work, even though it worked for a guy whose github i've stumbled upon
what should I do?
Alexander Køpke
@alexanderkopke
@tstusr441 your function doesn't need numbers as arguments. So instead do: function randomQuote() and it should work fine.

@jondcoleman
@andrewchar can you save the pen with that method so I can take a look?
Andrew Charlebois
@andrewchar
@jondcoleman pens been auto saving as ive been trying things. you can look now to see
Jonathan Coleman
@jondcoleman
@noczesc I can't get a quote to even show up - have you saved your changes?
@andrewchar you put the icons in a bootstrap grid?
Maciej Bembenista
@macbem
@jondcoleman yup, saved. It changes my quotes to &#8217;
Jonathan Coleman
@jondcoleman
when I click Random quote nothing happens @noczesc
Andrew Charlebois
@andrewchar
@jondcoleman i tried putting that in the ul class
Jonathan Coleman
@jondcoleman
@andrewchar they probably need to be divs to do that
another option is to add this css:
.nav li {
    float: left;
}
that will force them to stay the same orientation even when screen resizes
if you do that you might add a bit of padding on the ul and maybe an additional class on those lis to differentiate them from any other navbar you end up adding
e.g.
.nav .footer-icons li {
    float: left;
}
blob
@noczesc I get this error ^
you'll need to use JSONP or find an api that doesn't have the CORS restriction @noczesc

@coderNoob Somewhat belatedly - Depth is how far down the search chain you are. On a board with one mark placed there are those 8 possible moves. That's depth 1. On any one of those moves there are 7 possible moves, that's depth 2. On any one of THOSE moves there are 6 possible moves, that's depth 3, and so on. It goes down to depth 8, I guess, where the board is full.

@batman137

how can i make a div as big as the webpage? tried with

.jumbotron {
  heigth: 100%;
  width: 100%;
}

but obviously i am missing something

Jonathan Coleman
@jondcoleman
@batman137 can you share the pen link?
Jonathan Coleman
@jondcoleman
so you want it to be the same height and width as the window ?
batman137
@batman137
yes
Jonathan Coleman
@jondcoleman
#1 you have height misspelled :)
