@alpox I can't change background for .first-section
@alpox and I want do border-radius for container 0px, but can't do this
Nathan
@natertot12
Does anyone have any good css tutorials for making css toggles and other cool css things?

@alpox
@Kuklus23 You cannot change it because you have a border-radius. If you set a background, it has the round size too. So its all behind your picture
@Kuklus23
.container .jumbotron {
  border-radius: 0;
}
Konstantin

Konstantin
@Kuklus23
@alpox But I not understand what do with background
alpox
@alpox

@Kuklus23

.first-section {
  background-color: blue;
}

Did you want something like that? (Well, terrible color now...)

Konstantin
@Kuklus23
@alpox not work this
alpox
@alpox
@Kuklus23 it does on small screen, it collapses on big screen. The problem you have, is that you use a jumbotron as first sub-element of container
Konstantin
@Kuklus23
@alpox bg not changed
alpox
@alpox
Usually you have the outer container, followed by a row, followed by columns
Bootstrap just works this way
The jumbotron messes quite some things up in your layout
Konstantin
@Kuklus23
@alpox row work without jumbotron?
alpox
@alpox
@Kuklus23 Well, i think row works almost NOT with jumbotron :D
The row only wants that there is a container as one of its ancestors

@Kuklus23 Another way round is as the bootstrap suggests:

To make the jumbotron full width, and without rounded corners, place it outside all .containers and instead add a .container within.

Konstantin
@Kuklus23
@alpox I understand. Thank you!

<div class="jumbotron">
  <div class="container">
    ...
  </div>
</div>
Konstantin
@Kuklus23
@alpox You know why to the right of header free place?
alpox
@alpox
@Kuklus23 Yes, the header doesn't fully expand using .container.
@Kuklus23 You can try .container-fluid instead
But it tries to get some space there for that it doesn't just stick to the right
I think thats normal bootstrap behaviour

@Kuklus23
without him navbar not changed too
very hard
alpox
@alpox

@Kuklus23

.first-section {
  margin: 0 30px;
  background: blue;
  display: inline-block;
}

You can try this

But actually i would go with proper columns
@Kuklus23
<div class="col-md-12 first-section">
.first-section {
  margin: 0 30px;
  background: blue;
}
That would be better
Konstantin
@Kuklus23
Thank you. work

I'm looking for a couple of days for a solution to my problem with bootstrap - how to disable focus on the link after second click ? For exmple the navbar-brand is glowing, but it shouldnt. It just should be highlighted for a moment during action like scroll .
alpox
@alpox
@Kuklus23 For making your page responsive you may want to not use fixed widths on content:
.content {
  width: 1060px; // You should maybe remove this line
  margin: 0 auto;
}

I am trying to center a link and can't figure out how
Paweł Przytuła
@paprzytula
@landonain some example code?
alpox
@alpox
@Kuklus23 Btw. Your header needs all your css setup (and has the space right) only, because you are not using the usual bootstrap nav setup. For also making it responsive, look at this example from bootstrap:
<nav class="navbar navbar-default">
  <div class="container-fluid">
<!-- Brand and toggle get grouped for better mobile display -->
    <div class="navbar-header">
      <button type="button" class="navbar-toggle collapsed" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#bs-example-navbar-collapse-1" aria-expanded="false">
        <span class="sr-only">Toggle navigation</span>
        <span class="icon-bar"></span>
        <span class="icon-bar"></span>
        <span class="icon-bar"></span>
      </button>
      <a class="navbar-brand" href="#">Brand</a>
    </div>

    <!-- Collect the nav links, forms, and other content for toggling -->
    <div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="bs-example-navbar-collapse-1">
      <ul class="nav navbar-nav">
        <li class="active"><a href="#">Link <span class="sr-only">(current)</span></a></li>
        <li><a href="#">Link</a></li>
        <li class="dropdown">
          <a href="#" class="dropdown-toggle" data-toggle="dropdown" role="button" aria-haspopup="true" aria-expanded="false">Dropdown <span class="caret"></span></a>
          <ul class="dropdown-menu">
            <li><a href="#">Action</a></li>
            <li><a href="#">Another action</a></li>
            <li><a href="#">Something else here</a></li>
            <li role="separator" class="divider"></li>
            <li><a href="#">Separated link</a></li>
            <li role="separator" class="divider"></li>
            <li><a href="#">One more separated link</a></li>
          </ul>
        </li>
      </ul>
    </div>
   </div>
</nav>
@landonain A link is usually text (inline) and so you can center it with a text-align: center on its parent element. (As long as it is an inline element)
