.first-section {
  margin: 0 30px;
  background: blue;
}
That would be better
Konstantin
@Kuklus23

I'm looking for a couple of days for a solution to my problem with bootstrap - how to disable focus on the link after second click ? For exmple the navbar-brand is glowing, but it shouldnt. It just should be highlighted for a moment during action like scroll .
alpox
@alpox
@Kuklus23 For making your page responsive you may want to not use fixed widths on content:
.content {
  width: 1060px; // You should maybe remove this line
  margin: 0 auto;
}

I am trying to center a link and can't figure out how
Paweł Przytuła
@paprzytula
@landonain some example code?
alpox
@alpox
@Kuklus23 Btw. Your header needs all your css setup (and has the space right) only, because you are not using the usual bootstrap nav setup. For also making it responsive, look at this example from bootstrap:
<nav class="navbar navbar-default">
  <div class="container-fluid">
<!-- Brand and toggle get grouped for better mobile display -->
    <div class="navbar-header">
      <button type="button" class="navbar-toggle collapsed" data-toggle="collapse" data-target="#bs-example-navbar-collapse-1" aria-expanded="false">
        <span class="sr-only">Toggle navigation</span>
        <span class="icon-bar"></span>
        <span class="icon-bar"></span>
        <span class="icon-bar"></span>
      </button>
      <a class="navbar-brand" href="#">Brand</a>
    </div>

    <!-- Collect the nav links, forms, and other content for toggling -->
    <div class="collapse navbar-collapse" id="bs-example-navbar-collapse-1">
      <ul class="nav navbar-nav">
        <li class="active"><a href="#">Link <span class="sr-only">(current)</span></a></li>
        <li><a href="#">Link</a></li>
        <li class="dropdown">
          <a href="#" class="dropdown-toggle" data-toggle="dropdown" role="button" aria-haspopup="true" aria-expanded="false">Dropdown <span class="caret"></span></a>
          <ul class="dropdown-menu">
            <li><a href="#">Action</a></li>
            <li><a href="#">Another action</a></li>
            <li><a href="#">Something else here</a></li>
            <li role="separator" class="divider"></li>
            <li><a href="#">Separated link</a></li>
            <li role="separator" class="divider"></li>
            <li><a href="#">One more separated link</a></li>
          </ul>
        </li>
      </ul>
    </div>
   </div>
</nav>
@landonain A link is usually text (inline) and so you can center it with a text-align: center on its parent element. (As long as it is an inline element)

friends, whats the best API to use for the random quote machine
Paweł Przytuła
@paprzytula
@landonain you could add class like "text-center"

@pprzytula added the text-center class and it's not moving
Paweł Przytuła
@paprzytula
@landonain but where did you put this button? Is it in the class row or col-lg-12 for example?
Landon Simmons
@landonain
@pprzytula it's just at the end of my page
@pprzytula I will put in a row
Konstantin
@Kuklus23
@alpox all problem was in margin
alpox
@alpox
@Kuklus23 Yes for one thing. But you adjust it all yourself now what you don't have to. And if you make the page small in width, you won't have a breadcrumb button
Landon Simmons
@landonain
still no movement on the link @pprzytula
<div align="center">
<a class="btn btn-info centerButtons" href="http://hitchhikers.wikia.com/wiki/Towel" target="_blank">Towels</a>
</div> @pprzytula got it thank you for the help

@landonain I'd suggest adding a class to the div and put the styling to CSS

HI guys, am the Build a Tribute Page, how can I add an image in code pen?
Clem
@ctataru
hey guys. i'm trying to make my count down timer element (css line 66) bigger, but it completely distorts my structure when i try to change the font size. is there anyway to make this one element ignore margin rules and not interact with the other number/arrows?
http://codepen.io/wise/pen/PNBopg
Paweł Przytuła
@paprzytula
Hi, @SerekoMo If you don't have a pro account, you can only use <img src="..."> tags
@SerekoMo or background:url(...) in css
Frank XC
@tenkdayz
@ctataru i see the problem

@tenkdayz ah good. right now my buttons aren't working, so i'm in the process of fixing that. still haven't figured out my initial issue, though

Konstantin
@Kuklus23
Change plase between nav and first-section when I change screen size. How do that this place will absent?
Frank XC
@tenkdayz
@ctataru well codepen didnt want to save the fork I made.. but just give the div position absolute then just position it where you want it.
Clem
@ctataru
@tenkdayz gotcha. i'll try that! thanks
