Can someone help me with placeholder notifcation if the user does not exist?
I'm assuming i need to add another if statement?
or else
Martialis39
@Martialis39
tbh I didnt even bother with that
but thinking about
it
dont you get an error if it doesnt exist?
then you should be able to handle it in the request itself
Lemmy
@imnotlammy
User Story: I will see a placeholder notification if a streamer has closed their Twitch account (or the account never existed). You can verify this works by adding brunofin and comster404 to your array of Twitch streamers.

          var description = data.status;
        }
        else {
          var description = "user not found";
        }
This is what I tried, but doesnt seem to work @pzoladkiewicz

@GenghisJohn2016
Good morning all
noob question if I may, and of course I don't expect anyone to tell me the code, just a hint....
Sorin Ruse
@sorinr
@GenghisJohn2016 hi. whats the problem?
GenghisJohn2016
@GenghisJohn2016
I'm doing the first project, A Tribute Page. On the Sample there's a frame or border around everything that makes it look quite nice..... Any hints on how to achieve that? Here is a link to the project I'm doing (the example). https://codepen.io/FreeCodeCamp/full/NNvBQW/
I know we've covered this, it apparently has simply fallen out of my brain
Sorin Ruse
@sorinr
@GenghisJohn2016 border-radius: 6px; and also add your border thickness you wish
GenghisJohn2016
@GenghisJohn2016
div I presume?
sorry, was trying to give you kudos
I appreciate it
Sorin Ruse
@sorinr
@GenghisJohn2016 later after u solve the problem :)

var collectionCopy = JSON.parse(stringify(collection));
var collectionCopy = JSON.parse(stringify(collection));
ReferenceError: stringify is not defined
change like this : var collectionCopy = JSON.parse(JSON.stringify(collection));
will be ok

@liangshun
this is a bug?

// Keep a copy of the collection for tests
var collectionCopy = JSON.parse(JSON.stringify(collection));

// Only change code below this line
function updateRecords(id, prop, value) {

return collection;
}

lilyliterate
@lilyliterate
Does that work?
dagao.wei
@liangshun
if like this:

// Keep a copy of the collection for tests
var collectionCopy = JSON.parse(stringify(collection));

// Only change code below this line
function updateRecords(id, prop, value) {

return collection;
}

@shimoal
Hi everyone! I'm kind of new to this and I'm working on the Random Quote Machine project. I really want to try to use an API, probably Quotes on Design, but I'm really struggling. Does anyone have any resources to learn more about how to use APIs?
dagao.wei
@liangshun
there will be error

@lilyliterate
JSON.parse() and JSON.stringify() are from the same library of methods. You need to have JSON. before stringify.
