@Dinesh9387 sorry didn't see you rresponse. It looks like you maybe need to put a width on your topleft class in your css. You are containing your navigation in the div with class topleft... however, topleft width will just be as big as its contents unless you set the width.
@Dinesh9387 so you are setting your #about to float: right... but the right side of that parent div is exactly where your about button is at
@Dinesh9387 try adding width: 100% to .topleft

Working on "Local weather app" I'm in the process of trying to implement geographic location api and insert the lat and lon values into the weather api. Am I on the right track?
$(document).ready(function() {
$.getJSON("http://ip-api.com/json/?callback=?", function(data) {
});
var getLocation=function(data){
var lat= data.lat;
var lon= data.lon;
}
$.getJson("api.openweathermap.org/data/2.5/weather?lat="+lat"&lon="+lon)

});
the last part of the code is what I am trying to make sure is inserting those values.

@wearenotgroot Is my top function blocking the second one?
Sorin Ruse
@sorinr
@jdtdesigns do you know how vue.js reactivity is working? if yes just gimme a clue on how to clear an already triggered instance
greg
@wearenotgroot
@flindip to be able to get the values of lat and lon the second $.getJSON should be inside the callback function of the first one

@wearenotgroot I gotcha. how about this:

$(document).ready(function() {
$.getJSON("http://ip-api.com/json/?callback=?", function(data) {
var getLocation=function(data){
var lat= data.lat;
var lon= data.lon;
}
$.getJson("api.openweathermap.org/data/2.5/weather?lat="+lat"&lon="+lon), function(data){

});

});

@jdtdesigns
@sorinr Instead of using debounce, just use a setTimeout
greg
@wearenotgroot
@flindip also the recommended way of using $.getJSON
$.getJSON(url).done(callback).fail(errorCallback);
@flindip remember JSON part is all caps

@sorinr
@jdtdesigns you mean to setTimeout on searchWiki? to delay the calls until for some interval no keyup event its comming up?

clearTimeout(window.delaySearch);

window.delaySearch = setTimeout(function() {

@sorinr I'm trying to get you to figure out the logic on your own. Just think it through or write it out piece by piece then code it.

I'm so confused on how to get started..
What did you guys start with when doing the tribute page?
andreas2249
@andreas2249

@chibisan352, I always start a project with pencil and paper. I make a quick sketch what I'd like a page to look like (drawing squares). Then for each of those squares, determine where I'm going to have <div> or <section> breaks, text, buttons, etc.

Once I'm satisfied that's the goal, I then write the basic structure of the page filling it with dummy text, images, etc. I'll then add links and wire up the buttons (connect buttons to links)

This is a generalization, the idea being "begin with the end in mind" but spend more time initially planning a project early on rather than just coding a project.
