@sdday81 do you have a run button? If so you can remove that in the settings under behaviour

Hey, any feedback on my tribute page? It is very basic as I am beginner in this.

Can I get some feedback on my tribute page as well?

http://codepen.io/seaofwhatremains/pen/oLBwGY/

Any thoughts on how to best get started with the Portfolio page? It just seems really daunting from the get go and my biggest challenge/problem is getting started when facing a blank page.
kirbyedy
@kirbyedy
@bgeraci714 tribute page looks nice
@bgeraci714 now the portfolio is basically a free project, you can do whatever you want
search online for something you like, and try to recreate for example

Hi all, Im on the portfolio challenge and im stuck on the backgroun
background!
Blake Geraci
@bgeraci714
Yeah, that was the thing I think I had the biggest confusion about
quicksilver774
@quicksilver774
i have this really cool image i want to put as the background but for some reason every method i try or look up keeps chopping up my image
Blake Geraci
@bgeraci714
interesting.
can i see the image?
quicksilver774
@quicksilver774
sure
its a beaut =]
Blake Geraci
@bgeraci714
wow, that is!
did you take that yourself?
quicksilver774
@quicksilver774
naah google haha
kirbyedy
@kirbyedy
@quicksilver774 try to use background-size: cover;
Blake Geraci
@bgeraci714
lol
hm, so is that how you'd use multiple background images as well?
using background-size:cover i mean
quicksilver774
@quicksilver774
i think i tried cover before but ill try again

does anyone here know what's the difference between indexOf(a) and indexOf(+a)
somehow one of those worked in my code
and I don't understand the difference
kirbyedy
@kirbyedy
@bgeraci714 background-image: url(top-image.jpg), url(middle-image.jpg), url(bottom-image.jpg);
Blake Geraci
@bgeraci714
i see, so the images will automatically stack themselves?
Thanks a ton @kirbyedy, you've been incredibly helpful

@kirbyedy
here is a nice text about background settings
quicksilver774
@quicksilver774
ill check that article out, thanks!
i tried using the cover method for the size
it chops the bottom portion of my image though

@bgeraci714
can you post more of your code @sigursiguros ?
sigursiguros
@sigursiguros

function pairwise(arr, arg) {
  var index = [];

  for (var a in arr){
    var temp1 = arr[a];

    for (var i = 1; i<arr.length; i++){
      var temp2 = arr[i];

      if (temp1 + temp2 === arg && i > a && index.indexOf(+a) === -1 & index.indexOf(+i) === -1){
        index.push(+a, +i);
        break;
      }
    }
  }

  if (index.length >1){
    var addAll = function (a , b){
      return a + b;
    };
    return index.reduce(addAll);
  }

  else {
    return 0;
  }

}

pairwise([1, 1, 1], 2);
@bgeraci714 it maes a difference when I use indexOf(+a) and indexOf(a) and index.push(+a,+i) vs index.push(a,i)
basically the code wouldn't work without the pluses
which I don't understand why and couldn't find any solution on google

@jdtdesigns
@sigursiguros The + just parses the argument. It basically just turns a string value into an integer
sigursiguros
@sigursiguros
i see so indexOf doesn't work on a variable right?
Thanks @jdtdesigns @bgeraci714
