BY THE WAY---- on my codepen... it can't be https:// so you'll have to change it to http:// :/ I'm pretty sure that's how it has to be for chrome users now.. at least that's how I understand it...
otherwise the https:// codepen won't talk properly to the http:// API ................... that's my understanding

@dsonnn
@sigursiguros somehow it works now. Thanks!

@sigursiguros I'm pretty sure that @jdtdesigns has it right but if you do it with the +, you miss out on matches besides the first.

Hello could anyone tell me what am I doing wrong? I'm trying to get json from an api, but can't get it to work. I'm getting "Cross-Origin Request Blocked: The Same Origin Policy disallows reading the remote resource at http://api.forismatic.com/api/1.0/?method=getQuote&format=json&lang=en. (Reason: CORS header 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' missing)." error in web console. And this is my code : $.getJSON("http://api.forismatic.com/api/1.0/?method=getQuote&format=json&lang=en", function(json){
console.log(json.quoteText);
});

https://css-tricks.com/almanac/properties/b/background-image/
for example:
body{
  background: url(https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/5/58/Sunset_2007-1.jpg) no-repeat center center fixed;
}

@harshil1712
@sophiabrandt what I want to do is change the background according to the weather. Like example if it is rain I want a particular background, for clear weather I want another bg and so on.

hey guys i have a question about string replace
why does this not add a dash with every space?
str = "hello m name is jack";
str.replace(" ", "-");
 returns -----> "hello-my name is Jack"
why only the first word?

Hi, I am trying to get weather info from openweathermap.org by ZIP code. But I got an error message:{"cod":"404","message":"Error: Not found city"}
Here is my code
This message was deleted
$(document).ready(function() {
  var zip="";
  var country="";
  $.getJSON("http://ipinfo.io", function(response) {
    $(".location").html(response.city + ", " + response.region + ", " + response.country);
    zip=response.postal;
    country=response.country;
  });
  $.getJSON("http://api.openweathermap.org/data/2.5/weather?zip="+zip+","+country+"&APPID=4ca247b54b4eb71e942ca40585468d7d", function(json) {
    $(".weather").html(JSON.stringify(json));
  });
});
I wonder what was wrong
Bruce Young
@mutantspore
@designBuildShipSoftware put the second getjson inside the first getjson at the end. the processes are asynchronous.

I am working on the first challenge and I a trying to insert an image located on my computer using CodePen. Please help!!! Thank you.
Aaron Taylor
@aarontaylor
@bohumil1919 you will have to host it somewhere unless you have a Pro codepen account
Some people have just put it on Dropbox free account and linked in or on their github account you created here and linked in the img src to it
