@meetmangukiya
http://codepen.io/meetmangukiya/pen/vKjYvZ Why would the background image not render ?
Elbert Cortez
@trip16661
    const setShowcaseImg = function() {
        const thisProject = project[$(this).data("project")];
        //gets the name of the project to later use it to fetch properties from that project
        $showcaseImg.find("img").attr("src", thisProject.img);
        //gets the url of the imagen and set it
        $showcaseImg.find("p").text(thisProject.description);
        //gets the description
        $showcaseImg.find("a").attr("href", thisProject.url);
        //gets the url
        $showcaseImg.addClass("showcase-open");
        // then it opens a div containing this info
    }
I have something like this to showcase some images with text and a link but when i close the showcase div and activates it again with a different images it just takes like 30ms to actually change the image it work, but i can still see the previous image for like 20ms and that's not good :(
any idea of why, or how to work around it? I guess i can just simplely add a conditional or a setTime function to delay it but if you ask me it sound cheap :(
Meet Mangukiya
@meetmangukiya
It did render now :confused:

@trip16661
@meetmangukiya what do you exactly want it to look like?
Ken Haduch
@khaduch
@meetmangukiya - looks like you are using an image from imgur - that doesn't work (unless you are logged into an imgur account, I think?) They have a policy against cross-linking of images, if you check their terms & conditions. You have to get your image from some other site.
Meet Mangukiya
@meetmangukiya
ok @khaduch
@trip16661 a ocean like background image is supposed to be in the background.

@trip16661

if u want to see(just for testing)
try to deprecate the codepen link to http
you will see how it will work

can anyone help me with my random quote machine? I'm trying to use the twitter web intent but I'm not sure how to add the quote and author. I'm having a scope issue

ohh! lol yeah :)
I really like it!
do you know how to use the twitter web intent?
Meet Mangukiya
@meetmangukiya
This is what my tweet button code is
<a href="https://twitter.com/share" class="twitter-share-button" data-text="hi whats up" data-show-count="false" data-size="large" id="tweet">Tweet</a>
<script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
@labanch you gotta edit the data-text attribute to whatever message it should look like by default

@meetmangukiya what does that code do? I'm trying to make mine like the example. Where the quote and author is placed inside the 'tweet box' ready for anyone to tweet. Like this:

help format @bnelton
  • using Shift + enter will give you additional line feeds (space) for pasting your code. also, the backticks (`) key is located to the left of the number one (#1) key.
  • further, you may find the two buttons (chat/compose & markdown - the chat/compose button alternates modes) to the right of the text entry area helpful.
  • you can also edit text after it's been entered by clicking on the three (3) dots to the right of the text entry area (it will appear when you hover to the right of the time stamp).
