@bethqiang - I cannot get anything that works up to this point - and I have to check out for tonight... Maybe you'll figure it out, maybe I'll try to look into it more tomorrow?

@irvin3
hey peeps! does anyone have a good method for vertically centering a button in bootstrap?
Beth Qiang
@bethqiang
@khaduch Haha no worries! No pressure to figure it out :) (although I would not complain if you wanted to keep trying! ;)) I'll definitely keep trying though and let you know if I come up with anything!

@Cookcha
@irvin3 How are you trying to center it? Maybe this will help? http://stackoverflow.com/questions/9853815/how-to-center-btn-group-from-twitter-bootstrap
Sorin Ruse
@sorinr
@ajayt365 its because your h1 tag that has a margin-top. if you make h1{margin-top: 0px;} it will remove that margin
Vlad Fernandes
@Vlad-Fernandes
@irvin3 have you tried vertical-align
ertical-align: middle

Ok so Ive managed to get the dates converted but for some reason the second date tries becomes NaNth if its under 15.. I dont get it as both dates are coded the same
sorry I collapsed that when I copy pasted it

Does anyone know how to remove what seems like a default margin on bootstrap buttons? I want my buttons to be touching, maybe I need to put them in a column but i feel like you should have to do that
@123xylem you should post that in the helpjavascript chat
Olga C
@Octopinky
@irvin3 do you have your codepen link?
Nick Irvine
@irvin3
im still messing around with getting the formatting correct
@Octopinky I was just wondering if there is a way to get rid of the space between the buttons, I checked the buttons and they dont have any margins tho
Olga C
@Octopinky
@irvin3 let me take a look
Olga C
@Octopinky
@irvin3 Got it! you can try adding a negative margin to .btn class to remove the spaces.
Nick Irvine
@irvin3
@Octopinky thanks! its strange that you have to do that, I'd imagine that setting a 0 margin would fix it but it was already set at 0

@irvin3 To me it seems, that there is another pre-set somewhere deeper in the code. Otherwise, why would there be space between the buttons? This is tricky, lol
@irvin3 thank you for allowing me to be helpful

Nick Irvine
@irvin3
@Octopinky yea i guess that is one of the downfalls of using a premade framework
Olga C
@Octopinky
@irvin3 it would take ages to write a new one. there is no need to re-invent the wheel
Sorin Ruse
@sorinr
@irvin3 you should work on this: .numRow { height: 50px;}
Nick Irvine
@irvin3
@Octopinky yea i mean specifically it wouldnt be difficult to make my own button
@sorinr what should i work on for it? I am having a bit of a problem getting the buttons to be the height of the row
Sorin Ruse
@sorinr
@irvin3 make it 42px as your buttons height
Nick Irvine
@irvin3
@sorinr yea but then my buttons touch on the rows and it looks kind of weird
Olga C
@Octopinky
@irvin3 I agree, It does look weird...
Sorin Ruse
@sorinr
@irvin3 i know. but you said you want to get rid of the space between buttons
Nick Irvine
@irvin3
Yea there is some issue with the margin around the button, I feel like I may need to just put columns around them, because making the buttons the same height as the row messes up the formatting now
Sorin Ruse
@sorinr
@irvin3 you can make the .numRow and buttonFormat total width to be equal with 27+12+12+1+1 and then you can play with margins to make them as you wish. hope it make sense :)
Nick Irvine
@irvin3
@sorinr where did those numbers come from?
Sorin Ruse
@sorinr
@irvin3 if you inspect your buttons in the devtools on boxmodel you will see how much space the buttons occupy on your page
Jakub Adamec
@jadamec16

Morning, which way is faster, please?

margin: 0 0 5% 0;

OR

margin: 0;
margin-bottom: 5%;
Sorin Ruse
@sorinr
@irvin3 i would use flex column for the container and flex row for the buttons
DJ
@qualitymanifest
@jadamec16 if there is any speed difference i'm sure it's so insignificant you shouldn't worry about it. margin: top right bottom left is faster to write though, so that's how i usually do it. btw it's margin:bottom not margin:down
Jakub Adamec
@jadamec16
@qualitymanifest Ok, thanks. I know, sorry.. it's morning... :D
