Aiden
@AidenMead
I'm having and issue with my weather machine that has had be scratching my head for some time. My geolocation is fine and my API returns the requested info fine, but I just can't figure out how to properly access the data and display it
Anyone think they can help out?
Tessa
@TheTessaMurphy
@AidenMead I'm not sure but can you put a link to your app here or show us your code?
If you want I can also post the return data structure provided by the API creator if that helps?
Tessa
@TheTessaMurphy
Can I ask what browser you're using?
Daniel
@DanielMW34
@TheTessaMurphy are you asking me?

No Sorry, Daniel. I was asking Aiden. I'm not used to chat rooms and keep forgetting that messages keep coming.

For the tribute page, do you have to write your own copy and find your own image for it?

Can someone help me fix a bug on my Tribute Page
Tessa
@TheTessaMurphy
@AidenMead Did you get an API key?

@JoshDeNovice is there a reason you’re positioning things manually and not using the boostrap grid?

Hey i'm doing the weather project
And I was wondering if anyone here has a good api
Thanks

@mfukano
I'm at the tail end of my quote machine project but some of my quotes are too long to tweet; think that's alright if I have a pop-up error message?
Tessa
@TheTessaMurphy
@mfukano Mine too. I figured that I'd actually successfully called twitter with the quote, and was able to tweet the ones that were short enough, so I counted it a success. That's just me, though.
Mat Fukano
@mfukano
@TheTessaMurphy thanks for your input :) I really like the quotes I'm using so I don't want to change them, and maybe it's extra points for error checking?

I have some weather API for China only
Tessa
@TheTessaMurphy
I used the one FreeCodeCamp recommends, openweathermap.org

@djangoearnhardt
I’m just starting to make my weather page, and I’m testing my API. Can anyone help me figure out why I’m not getting any info displayed on the page? Thank you!
http://codepen.io/djangoearnhardt/pen/WoQmJQ
Tessa
@TheTessaMurphy
@djangoearnhardt One thing I noticed is that you're calling jd.temp, and I think you need jd.main.temp. This page really helped me. https://openweathermap.org/current#current_JSON It took forever to figure out what I was looking at, but when I did, I was able to make everything work.
@mfukano Works for me. ;)
djangoearnhardt
@djangoearnhardt
@TheTessaMurphy ahhh, i think i’ve updated the locations for my requests… and it won’t load into my <span>’s. i haven’t used .on(“load”) before, but I thought it was set up to work
Tessa
@TheTessaMurphy
@djangoearnhardt How come you're using onload instead of document.read?
sorry, meant document.ready.
djangoearnhardt
@djangoearnhardt
i didn’t know about it lol @TheTessaMurphy
thank you though, that’s what I needed @TheTessaMurphy

@yaycupcake The grid doesn't work how I want it to work. Whenever I tried positioning things next to each other, it just placed them under or above each other. So I had to do it the tedious way. For instance, if I wanted two pictures to be horizontally next to each other using col-md-1, it just put one image below the other. From my experience, the grid is woefully inefficient. I feel like I'm doing something wrong with it though.
Tessa
@TheTessaMurphy
@djangoearnhardt Very cool.
yaycupcake
@yaycupcake
@JoshDeNovice You should try giving the images the class img-responsive. Also, if you have those three images and you want only them to be i that row, you should use .col-md-4 so they each take up 4 out of the 12 columns of the grid.
p4ran0id-sch1z0
@p4ran0id-sch1z0
@yaycupcake Alright, I try it out and see how it goes.
