@mzedlach
killing me.
It's sucking my will to continue coding.
Tyler Moeller
@TylerMoeller
They haven't been able to find a new Weather API that doesn't require an API key...
It kills everyone at first :) but once you get past this, it will be much easier.
mzedlach
@mzedlach
hehe
sigh
I hope so
:)
Hurray!!!
lol
So.... where should I go from here...... Did you look at the commented out code at the bottom?
Do you get that?
get = understand ^^
Tyler Moeller
@TylerMoeller
Everyone has opinions on this - here's mine. Use navigator.geolocation. If that fails, then fall back to an IP-based location. Here's an example: http://codepen.io/TylerMoeller/pen/ZBBEGq?editors=0010
mzedlach
@mzedlach
I mean, it works, it prints my locations to the console. But anytime I change the code, so taht I get a latitude and another latitude reading, the output doesn't change.
Tyler Moeller
@TylerMoeller
For your weather API, choose one that supports HTTPS, like Weather Underground: https://www.wunderground.com/weather/api
mzedlach
@mzedlach
Yowza! That one you send is VERY exact!
Tyler Moeller
@TylerMoeller
If you try it on a mobile device without Wi-Fi on, you'll probably see it won't be very exact
mzedlach
@mzedlach
Because it will ping to the same tower my phone is pinging to?
And don't you have to pay for the Wunderground API?
Interesting.
How are you so knowledgeable ?
:)
Tyler Moeller
@TylerMoeller
Yes, Weather Underground is free - no credit card required.

Is anyone familiar with using SASS? I am trying to start using it on my Pomodoro Clock project and I am already doing something wrong declaring variables. If you are familiar could you take a look and see what I've done wrong? (Press "Run" to try to apply styling and see error) http://codepen.io/jrandall/pen/NbyVod
mzedlach
@mzedlach
I'm not even sure where to start with teh Wunderground stuff..... documentation?
I will need a key, right?

@mzedlach
@MessiaHack I'm sorry I'm not sure of how much help I can be. What are you tryign to do ?
jrandallhansen
@jrandallhansen
@mzedlach perhaps in the meantime you could help me? haha
Jerry Purvis
@MessiaHack
@mzedlach in pen mode, the star in the background shows up right behind my logo. However, in full mode, it shows up below and out of sight. I prefer the way it looks in pen mode

@zamora88
How do I center my text for this challenge? do I need to create a style element?
For the paragraphs and headings
Shivank Sharma
@shivanksharma91
@zamora88 eveni want to know he same
jrandallhansen
@jrandallhansen
set the text align property to text-align: center for whichever element needs the text center @zamora88
mzedlach
@mzedlach
@MessiaHack I am tempted to say that it is either because of this: background-size: cover; or " position: relative;" although, I think ti's the background-size:cover
@MessiaHack If you want that image the be the same every time, I think you have to make it so that the size is fixed and not relative to teh window size
which is what I think the "cover" does
zamora88
@zamora88
@jrandallhansen Do I need to do <style> and then that?
mzedlach
@mzedlach
@MessiaHack As for specific code, I'm not sure... background-height: ##px?
@jrandallhansen I wish I could try adn help, but your code is beyond my ability.
jrandallhansen
@jrandallhansen
@zamora88 I suppose so but you should have a separate style sheet (CSS) file
@mzedlach Ya me too apparently lol. I tried to look at that star question as well. I am not sure either. I would have to do some Googling

@artoodeeto
hi guys. i have a bootstrap and i cant adjust my cellspacing on my tables. is there a way to adjust it?? i even tried overriding it. but still no luck
mzedlach
@mzedlach
@MessiaHack Another tip ~ put it in full mode and then re-adjust your windwo size. See how everythign is adjusting to the window? If you want it fixed, you need to set more strict values to the height and/or width.
Jerry Purvis
@MessiaHack
thanks for the tips @mzedlach
