@MessiaHack
looking for a little help. Trying to get my contact form to be transparent except for a bottom border. However, even with how I currently have it coded, you can still slightly see the outline of the input fields and text area. Any advice?

this is my js code//////RUN JQUERY
$(document).ready(function(){
//STATUS AND API CALL FOR FREE CODE CAMP
var url='https://wind-bow.hyperdev.space/twitch-api/streams/?callback=?';

$.getJSON(url, function(data1){

var displayName=data2.follows[i].channel.display_name;
console.log(displayName);
}
});

});

@0sk4rgp

afani martin
@whiz25
@0sk4rgp they are given in the instructions or you can google as well
kirbyedy
@kirbyedy
@MessiaHack
#message {
  background-color:rgba(255,255,255,0);
  border: none;
}
try with this for start, then develop from there
but there must be a more elegant way
Jerry Purvis
@MessiaHack
actually, that's the code I pretty much have, but the input field still has a slight outline.
@kirbyedy
Abhishek Kumar
@Mr-Kumar-Abhishek
@kirbyedy I think that works fine , or background: transparent;
kirbyedy
@kirbyedy
funny thing, I have something similar
but as I am looking into the code its actually inside materialize library :D
Abhishek Kumar
@Mr-Kumar-Abhishek
@MessiaHack tried this ? background: transparent;
oh
kirbyedy
@kirbyedy
  background-color: transparent;
  border: none;
  border-bottom: 1px solid #9e9e9e;
this does the trick apparently
Jerry Purvis
@MessiaHack
lol. maybe I just have really good eyesight, because it's still the same thing lol @kirbyedy
kirbyedy
@kirbyedy
@MessiaHack yes, I do see it as well :)
Abhishek Kumar
@Mr-Kumar-Abhishek
I need some motivation ~ later :)
kirbyedy
@kirbyedy
@MessiaHack can you link materialize.css library to your codepen and tell me the result
It should automatically do it the way you wan it ;)
almost :D

@mohamedsaieed

mohamedsaieed

mohamedsaieed
@mohamedsaieed
Carlos Hernandez
@juancarloshg
@mohamedsaieed You have some errors in your css, I saw 2 places 0 px, I believe it should go together (0px) and also, if it's 0, you dont need to write px.
Also, for the margin right in #navdiv ul li, you wrote marigin instead of margin
Tyler Moeller
@TylerMoeller
@MessiaHack To remove the small outline remaining, use box-shadow: none;
Make sure you test out input modifications on all browsers though, they all handle these CSS properties a little differently.

I don't know if the people are still online who helped me out but guess what, it's not working anymore
is anyone trying to work on the weather project because I had some code that worked 2 hours ago and now it doesn't work anymore
Jamal
@JamalPolaya
can any body help me with this line of code function inIframe () { try { return window.self !== window.top; } catch (e) { return true; } }
can any body help me with this line of code
function inIframe () { try { return window.self !== window.top; } catch (e) { return true; } }
what it is mean ?
Sorin Ruse
@sorinr
@lawfets hi. it says invalid api key. log on to openweather api and generate a new key
Sorin Ruse
@sorinr
@lawfets i would also recommend to disable autosaving and autorun in general pen settings coz each time you change even a dot in the code the pen autosaves and run and ofc will make a call to the api
Stefaan Walleghem
@lawfets
@sorinr I did, and weird fact, now the first code I made that didn't work now works
Sorin Ruse
@sorinr
@lawfets my example should work too if you change the old api key
Stefaan Walleghem
@lawfets
@sorinr with the {html instead of $("#someId").html? because that doesn't work anymore and I've been said, it's because html is not defined as a function
Sorin Ruse
@sorinr
@lawfets nope. this example but you have to replace the api key with the new one and it should work
Stefaan Walleghem
@lawfets
@sorinr oh, that one, that's exactly what I did and now it works. thanks for all the help
