Can I have some critiques so far? Thanks

Michael Karpinski
@karpimpski
@amidzicigor it seems like you're just barely started, but so far it seems good. it has a nice design. I'd be careful about being too vanilla, though. it just seems like you used a bunch of Bootstrap classes so far and haven't done much custom styling, which looks nice but may not be what a recruiter is looking for
Igor Amidzic
@igoramidzic
@karpimpski Yeah I just started learning bootstrap today so not really sure how to customize just yet. Thanks for the tip :)

@karpimpski
I just completed this vanilla JS clock! you can click it to go from analog to digital and the other way around! I'd really appreciate some help with the digital clock design, I don't like it much. please let me know what you think :)

@karpimpski
@amidzicigor no problem! definitely check out flex-box for responsiveness. it's much better and, in my opinion, much easier than Bootstrap
Igor Amidzic
@igoramidzic
@karpimpski Will do man
Michael Karpinski
@karpimpski
@amidzicigor are you experienced in back-end development? I noticed that you're using server code in your repo

Can someone help me, if I put anymore of the 300x300 panels it messes them all up, can someone help please? http://codepen.io/DylanClelland/pen/ENOaGp
Igor Amidzic
@igoramidzic
@karpimpski I'm familiar with nodejs, yes. Not experienced
Dylan-Clelland
@Dylan-Clelland
And I can't get the top one to fall in place like the others, it's a bit off and too close to the second one, when you look at it in mobile view.
Igor Amidzic
@igoramidzic
@Dylan-Clelland can you update your codepen with the problem?

Can some one help me with this: http://codepen.io/vengal-learn/pen/QGJdze
Is it possible to make header content to display in one single row at any point of time with reduced screen size and instead get a scroll bar when screen size is reduced.
Tom
@moT01
@vengal4327 look into @media
or css media queries
vengal
@vengal4327
@moT01 I will check that. Thanks!

How do I make it so when you click on one of the links it takes you somewhere on the page?
Like when you click "Contact" it takes you to the bottom of the page to the Contact Section

@AmazeCPK
Man, I absolutely SUCK at front end web dev. I can't seem to do anything without a lot of time googling, and then breaking other code i previously did
Nathanael-M
@Nathanael-M
@Dylan-Clelland, you use ID's on classes. Then you target those ID's with hashes in hrefs!
@Dylan-Clelland
<a href="#slide-1"></a>

<div id="slide-1"></div>
Anthony Contreras
@AmazeCPK
Can someone please help me acieve this effect? http://prntscr.com/djm895
I don't even know what to google at this point -__-
Nathanael-M
@Nathanael-M
@AmazeCPK You mean just having text and an image beside eachother?
Orrr...something more specific? Not 100% sure what you mean!
Anthony Contreras
@AmazeCPK
simply yes,
Sorin Ruse
@sorinr
@AmazeCPK you can use flexbox in css with space around. here something to look at:flexbox
Anthony Contreras
@AmazeCPK
but also I would like it centered vertically on the page
alrighty, watching it now now
Nathanael-M
@Nathanael-M
@AmazeCPK Flexbox isn't my first recommendation because it isn't well supported by IE, but there are other ways.
Anthony Contreras
@AmazeCPK
damn that backwards browser!
Nathanael-M
@Nathanael-M
Look at positioning elements. Just start with the basics :) In this case, floats.
<body>
     <div class="row">

         <div class="text">
               <p>YaddaYadda</p>
         </div>

         <div class="image">
         </div>
     </div>
</body>
Anthony Contreras
@AmazeCPK
alright, will look at floats first. and while I have you guys here.. I am also always having this problem. (one sec)
For some reason elements are going behind the navabr
Nathanael-M
@Nathanael-M
body {
   background-image: url(whatever);
   background-size: cover;
}

.row{
   position: relative;
   width: 80%;
   height: 400px;
   margin: 0, auto;
   margin-top: 100px;
}

.text{
   position: relative;
   height: 100%;
   width: 45%;
   float: left;
   margin-right: 10%;
}

.image {
   background-image: url (askldlaksd);
   background-size: cover;

   position: relative;
   height: 100%;
   width: 45%;
   float: left;
}
@AmazeCPK Something like that off the top of my head maybe.
@AmazeCPK Unless you're using bootstrap in which case it's way easier. Just look into their grid system more.
Anthony Contreras
@AmazeCPK
@Nathanael-M works better than what I had before for sure, just need to align it horizontally center
