Your link and style tags are outside of head.
You close it before
@123xylem
Move the </head> down to right before <body>

@123xylem
I used the cdn that fontawesome had on their site i htink

Using CSS
Copy the entire font-awesome directory into your project.
In the <head> of your html, reference the location to your font-awesome.min.css.

<link rel="stylesheet" href="path/to/font-awesome/css/font-awesome.min.css">
Check out the examples to start using Font Awesome!
THATS WHAT I COPIED

not sure why it didnt work
or why there href is like that
alpox
@alpox
@123xylem Well look at the path. They just wanted to tell you that you have to link to your own copy of the css on your disk
If you downloaded it

@RiccardoMPesce
Guys I have a doubt.
When I select say img[src] in css, it will only select all the imgs which has the src attribute, right?
And not img without src

@alpox
@RiccardoMPesce Yes

@RiccardoMPesce You can read more here: http://www.w3schools.com/css/css_attribute_selectors.asp

@RiccardoMPesce
I better advise mdn over shay howe and w3schools
MDN is very coincisive
alpox
@alpox
@RiccardoMPesce Right, i prefer MDN too. Because its specific and defining.
I heard here a lot though that people didn't understand MDN because they didn't have the terminology knowledge yet so it was too complicated.
So i sometimes show w3schools here :-)
Riccardo M. Pesce
@RiccardoMPesce
@alpox I think mdn covers less topics. But it does cover them completely
alpox
@alpox
@RiccardoMPesce MDN just covers the exact web API whereas w3schools etc. also define some other stuff around web
Vasile Botnaru
@VasileBotnaru
how much did it take you to finish your portfolio?
alpox
@alpox
@VasileBotnaru I can only refer to what i heard here already, but its usually a lot :-) people invest a load and quite some days into their portfolio
Vasile Botnaru
@VasileBotnaru
@alpox what about you?
it feeld daunting
alpox
@alpox
@VasileBotnaru I'm not of importance in a comparison since i did web dev for quite some time already and don't actually need ffc. I'm here to help only :-)
I did the portfolio though.
But i didn't take long time for details in styling etc. :D
@VasileBotnaru I know that development sometimes or even often can feel daunting. You'll have to get your head around that and not think too much about it. Just try to go on and find your resources, and when something doesn't work out, ask here :-)
Its even usual that it can happen that you're stuck with one single problem for some days when it works out badly
I think every programmer experiences that
I remember times when i went to work and changed only 1 line of code by the end of the day because i was just looking for the issue - changing code - rollback. change code - rollback.
Vasile Botnaru
@VasileBotnaru
@alpox The thing is I don't know how to approach the task, do I have to know how to do it and then start doing, do I have to do while I see others code, do I have to understand that code well from the beggining, or I can go on without thinking too much about it, that's my problem.
alpox
@alpox
@VasileBotnaru Last one :-)
Vasile Botnaru
@VasileBotnaru
you mean i can borrow code, without understanding it?
just so i can perform the task?
